You guys should consider yourselves very fortunate to live in a province that builds any roads.

A couple of pics of driving easterly through the Oakville 403/QEW interchange. The new bridges will be more of a tunnel design than the existing post-tensioned concrete beam bridges.

By the looks of things, there is going to be a sub collector on the northbound 410 between the 401 and Courtney Park interchanges, which wouldn't have fit with the former loop ramp.

Should they ever complete the Courtney Park interchange, a northbound on-ramp entering the 410 to the north of the Courtney Park interchange would be far too close to the Derry Road off-ramp to operate well. The reconfiguration of the northbound off-ramp allows for any further northbound on-ramp to be a loop ramp, which mitigates the close interchange spacing somewhat.

(if that makes any sense... it can be hard to explain in text).

to give a better idea of what we are talking about, here is a picture I took few weeks ago... the former 410 N->Courneypark loop ramp is being removed to have a "standard" diamond ramp... but that reduces the weave space to the 401 ...
It also shows typical (horrible) 410 traffic flow... in the direction Brampton of course since its the afternoon rush hour, it being around 14:00...

The MTO is planning another two contracts to rehab the bridges at the 401/403/410 interchange. During one of the phases the ramp from the southbound 410 to the eastbound 401 is going to be reduced to a single lane. Given the traffic that already exists on the southbound 410 every morning, I would not want to be driving into the city from Brampton every day that year.

Thanks for the great vid of the 410/10, I've never travelled on that highway before. Orangeville s a lovely little city but I took the 400 to get there years ago.

I am surprised by the amount of traffic on the road. Orangeville is only about 30,000 isn't it? Where is all the traffic going? I know the Dufferin County is growing quite quickly but still that is a very busy road.

It's the main route into much of that part of Ontario. I take it occasionally to go to Owen Sound, for example.

This video was shot on the afternoon Monday of the Victoria Day long weekend. There was considerably more southbound traffic in the video than would be typical of most other times that this video could have been filmed on.

The project page still indicates that "Full construction will start in spring 2017". Is there any news if it happened or when it will happen?

The earliest the construction might start in 2019. There will be a bridge replacement that's a requirement for the project that will be done in 2018, but the actual construction might start in 2019. The completion time is 2021-2022. Given MTO's history, I'd go with 2022 with the completion year.

As per folks at aaroads, construction will start in 2018. Sections will start opening in 2021 and the final section should open by 2025.

Clearing and grubbing along the right of way for this project was completed in this spring.

I haven't been up the 400 in a few months, but the contract for the construction works went to tender this spring, and shovels should be in the ground soon if they aren't already.
