They didn't want to send a Dutch one nor was I able to get helped in Dutch when I called the police station. Explaining the situation in French over phone was really hard for me. I asked if I they at least could help me in English over the phone. That wasn't possible either. So I tried in my best French but they wouldn't hear me and kept saying I should pay the fine, wich was over 200euro's. So I send an appeal by letter in Dutch to the court in Namur. I never heard anything back neither did I pay the fine. This was 2 years ago.
Happened to me a similar thing in Charleroi. I received a PV (dont know the English term) which stated a police officer wanted to pull me over, but i ignored his order and that i insulted the police officer with certain gestures.
I never was at the location of the incident, but i was at Charleroi airport a few days earlier.
I assume someone (who actually did the offense) with the same car as me made a copy of my license plates when i was there.

The document was in French, but i filled in an objection in Dutch, sent the document back and never heard anything about it since.

You can find several stories about similar incidents:

So it's criminals at work and police doesn't have the means to control such scams?

Wow thanks a lot Davidoff, you really have an extensive coverage of Belgian highways now!
And thanks for the Brussels inner ring road, I've never seen recording of that!

It's the only fully 3 level Turbine in Belgium.

The other 3 level Turbine (near zaventem) was never completed and is only in use for 50%.

All the other turbines in Belgium are 2 levels only.

Very nice. I assume that the first junction was built together with the motorway that is now the E40 between Brussels and Ostend? It hasn't been there for a very long time then.

I know but I haven't seen any plans for this connection. How will they do this in this limited space? Don't tell me they are going to add 5 meters of asphalt and make a ground level crossing with the R22?

In that case I would rather see a connection with the N1 along the channel. They've build a viaduct for the new railway line across the whole area so they can for a road to

I seem to remember that it was a semi-regular intersection from the renders that I've seen. There'll be a tunnel for the traffic coming from the south to the north on the Woluwelaan though.
Some more details here: http://www.wegenenverkeer.be/persber...m-brussel.html (Dutch)

Personally, I'm just glad that exit 5 is being eliminated and replaced with something a lot better and safer. I never liked that sharp corner at the end.

EDIT: ah, found them: http://www.wegenenverkeer.be/wegenwe...elaan-r22.html (the fourth image of "Beeldmateriaal herinrichting Woluwelaan" shows the intersection, though I'm not sure whether it is 100% accurate). Also, the pictures show that the old exit 5 will be used as entrance/exit for the Uplace mall, should it be built.

E40 shoulder running

Shoulder running is available on outbound E40 east of Brussels, starting today. The shoulder can open to traffic, chiefly during the evening rush hour, along a 7 kilometer stretch of E40 from Sterrebeek to the Heverlee motorway interchange with E314. If open, there will be 4 lanes available for outbound traffic.

Additionally, auxiliary lanes were put into use along a stretch of E314 around the city of Leuven, between the Heverlee interchange to Wilsele. This reduces weaving on the through lanes.

I'm not entirely sure, but the cause of most traffic jams is the interchange with E314 I think. However an extra lane wouldn't hurt in that spot.

The recent shoulder running aprovals show our highways badly need more capacity.
The shoulder running on the E313 near Antwerp is not even long enough. Extra lanes are needed from as far away as Tessenderlo (50km) to help the traffic flow more easely. More, the R1 can easely needs 6 lines in each direction with 8 or more lanes on the very busy sections while today only small sections are 6 lanes and some even 3 lanes...

Lets just hope they are going to start to tunnel the R11 soon and build it a full motorway like planned.

E42 Namur - Liège

E42 east of Namur has been widened to 3 lanes, from the Daussoulx interchange with E411 to Andenne exit.

James Bond was here.

7 months to be exact. Works started 7 September 2012 and were completed on 8 April 2013.

They've been doing it in stages then, because widenings have been going on between Namur and Mons for years.

N19, Geel

A new interchange and cable-stayed bridge opened to traffic near Geel. It is located immediately north of E313 and two traffic lights have been replaced with a single roundabout and flyover. The nearby Albert Canal has a new cable-stayed bridge spanning it, improving shipping conditions (higher clearance).

the bridge:

The city name of Geel literally means "yellow".

Widening of E40 near the Groot-Bijgaarden interchange in 1970. This segment originally opened in 1956.
