Yep, they've placed lots of matrix signs around the ring of Antwerp when they modernised it. It's something they should do everywhere...

About the "inconsistent" signage: one is to show the industry area that's accessible with that exit, the other for the towns. I do agree that they should've just placed them both on the sign, but two such signs. As far as I'm aware, exit signs are repeated several times (two to three times usually), so even if you miss one, you won't necessarily miss the exit. The E313 could use an extra lane in each direction, but the point is that you'll be stuck at the bottleneck further on anyway, so it wouldn't really improve the traffic flow.

Greetings,
Glodenox

Is Belgium planning to upgrade the E313 sometime in the future?

seems a bit messy. font and arrow type is not my cup of tea, but it is subjective. and why that signs-behind-greenery effect appears only in Belgium?
the thing i like are some creative signs like this one for Antwerpen ring

It would probably not be solved all together, but it's better to have a bit of congestion at Antwerpen-Oost, than congestion over 30 kilometers to Herentals or Geel, which is now happening almost daily.

E42 St. Vith - Battice

A drive on one of Belgiums most scenic motorways. It travels across the roof of Belgium. These pictures are taken in 2006.

1. Near St. Vith. Notice translations are being painted over by language-extremists.

2. Vielsalm exit.

3. Distance sign but no distances!

4. Some of their newer signage. Yes, they speak German here!

5. That caravan is probably Dutch

6. Yes it's indeed a Dutch slow-tower.

7. Recht exit.

8. And a nice view.

9. Pavement quality is OK here

10. Gorgeous isn't it?

Most of those are very old it seems. But sadly enough there's not much of a difference if you compare it with the new ones in terms of clarity I agree: we need more overhead signs. Or just more matrix signs for dynamically displaying traffic information, it really helps.

For a country that has high taxes, their infrastructure doesn't look as good as it suppose to be.

Agreed, but Belgium doesn't have too much money to spend, so they have to make good decision where to spend their money on. Still, I agree that it doesn't look too good, but there are some beautiful motorways on the pics Chris showed us
