You can check out the Dutch Autosnelwegen forum. They have a large Belgium section too. http://forum.autosnelwegen.nl But i think most pictures are before the reconstruction of the E25-E411 Autoroutes. Maybe they are offline too.
But i can tell you, that it is likely that on www.roadpics.net, a lot of Belgium pics will be added this summer.

Nice photos, Chris. You brought back my memories, hehe. I remember one of the rest areas, it was quite big, and full of chavs.

E19 Bruxelles - France

Ittre - Nivelles - La Louvière - Mons - France

This road goes from the capital beltway to the French border near Valenciennes.

Driving on Belgian motorways is like driving through jungle. I've never seen so high trees along motorways, especially in the middle. I know there's a motorway (or expressway or whatever) in Brussels (I was heading for Luxembourg, so it's probably somewhere in the SE), which is covered by trees completely; it looked great!

Yeah, that's probably just outside Brussels, in the Zoniënwoud. (Zone woods or something).

E42 Mons - Liège

Another photoserie of the main transport axe in Wallonie; the E42. It connects all large cities; Mons, Charleroi, Namur, Liège.
A lot of truck traffic, and a lot of signs behind trees, as usual.

123 pics, Picasa Webalbum

Around the R0-E411 interchange. On the southeastside of Brussels.

^ Ok, thanks; I suppose it's the "extension" of E411 into Brussels.

E429 Tournai - Halle

This is one of the most quiet motorways in Belgium, however it is the connection between two big agglomerations; Lille and Brussels. This motorway is in good condition.

E25 Luxembourg - Liège
This E25 has now completely been rehabilitated, i saw in Juni 2007. But these pics are from May 2006, so there can be some construction sites seen, but very old pavement too, as well as very new pavement. By popular demand;

Photo's taken by Frits from the Dutch Autosnelwegen forum.

I don't think belgians care about such things. It's just one of the main attractivities of belgium: chaos. It's our trademark and actually I don't see the point of 'impression for foreigners': If I'm going abroad I don't care about the nice signs.
People in Europe always see belgium as the stupid country with no good and actually I never see why...(aren't we a model -state?)+ In 2006 Belgium was the biggest country in Europe for logistics, so I suppose the 'signs' aren't realy relevant.

though the eye wants something, isn't it?

The aesthetical point is quite subjective; I personally don't think Belgium signs are very ugly. But is loses his function if it isn't visible enough. It doesn't make a country immediatly bad, but yes, it has effects on how people think about Belgium. There are people who try to avoid Belgium on their trip to e.g. The Alpes or even France/Spain because they don't like driving there.

Belgian road signs are very stressful -> badly designed and randomly showing up on the left side...

The belgians should just adapt the dutch signage.

That's because it's a lot more convenient using the E17 (Lille-Antwerpen) and changing to the E40 (Oostende-Brussels I think) when approaching Gent. It full highway from downtown Lille to downtown Brussels.
The problem with E429 is the non-highway part from Halle to the R0, but it can be a better option when you are going to the South of Brussels' region.

Are you kidding? The E40 near Brussels is very much jammed, and has so many trucks. The E429 gives a much more pleasant drive, and the non-motorway section near Halle is only like 2 or 3 km, and you barely loose time here.

I usually go to Brussels on week-end and night that's probably why!
