Mountain road to Spitzingsee ski resort

This is a dead-end road that branches from B307 and goes to Spitzingsee ski resort and the nearby village. It is a quite modern mountain road, I am curious about the year in which it was constructed or modernized, as the resort looks older than the road itself.

Same tunnel, seen from the opposite side

Now, an older strecht after the village.

It is absolutely ridiculous to have the road "narrowed" to build a bike lane in a very steep mountain pass totally out of reach for cyclists anyway.
Totally out of reach? You'd be surprised how many cyclists you'll find on such roads in summertime. And as summer tourism is important for that region they want to make things more comfortable for cyclists. Seems sensible to me.

The main road from Bayrischzell over Sudelfeld to Oberaudorf is free. Only the road that branches off north at Tatzelwurm to Brannenburg is a toll road.

Neither is that road steep. Clearly, he's from Holland.

A4 Jena

The A4 near Jena will be realigned, and widened to 2x3 lanes. From 2012, A4 will feature 2x3 lanes all the way from Eisenach to Dresden. Google Earth just updated its imagery.

1. The A4 will branch off of its original alignment near Magdala, and run through the 3 kilometer-long Jagdberg Tunnel, across the Saale River and through a land tunnel through Jena.

The higher state court has dismissed all appeals against the widening of A8 between Ulm and Augsburg in Southern Germany. This means 41 kilometers of widening to six lanes can proceed. The costs are around € 305 million.

That dust storm was caused by farmers who played nearby fields

It can happen a lot this time of the year because crops have not grown yet on the fields, and during dry spells like the last month or so, dust forms easily. I've seen it in the Netherlands as well, these are complete "white-outs", you can't see anything.

After the accident the farmers were ordered to bring out slurry on their fields near the autobahn to prevent more dust to be blown on the highway and help the rescuers to get a better visibility of the crash site.

The main cause of this accident:

Has somebody driven at a4 near Jena recently? It seems to be a lil bit substandard, such as a8 near Munchen. And it seems to be kinda Belgian with all that greenery

I drove there in 2009. I took 173 pictures between Bad Hersfeld and Hermsdorfer Kreuz:

Look at post #3206 in this thread. This section of the A4 will be soon closed and reopened as a brand new stretch further north.

I found something what might be interesting. ChrisZwolle has taken pictures of A4 in 2009, I went there with my camera about one year later. In his archives I found pictures of a junction before rebuilding Eisenach's section and in mine, after reconstruction (actually, after removing). It might be quite interesting to compare them, unfortunately I have no idea how to copy Chrises pictures, so let me paste these done by myself and maybe Chris will post his work as well.

I hope Chris won't get mad for publishing his pictures.
@Chris: if I made a mistake publishing them please delete my post.
