I've heard somewhere that they want to build a new bridge between Denmark and Germany, is that right? It would be nice for NL too, if the germans decide to build a new Motorway between the dutch A37 and their A1, like this:

There won't be any "Hasetalautobahn" as far as i know (Meppen - Cloppenburg).
It is more likely that they build an A20/A22 from Lübeck to the A28 west of Oldenburg. That way you can avoid the busy Hamburg and Bremen area. |

I'd like to see a map including the "Gelbe Autobahnen", Bundesstraßen that are likely built like autobahns

I meant Kraftfahrstraßen
most of them are pretty close to a autobahn. at least in my region around koblenz (what maybe influenced my view on those roads) but concerning the wiki-article, that's true that on some places, there can be usual junctions etc.

In the Harz, from Seesen (A7) to Herzberg, there is some pretty good Gelbe Autobahn too. It comes close to a Voie Expresse in France.

know it because the B10 has many traffic lights in Stuttgart and leads directly through the city and has many normal junctions and even tram lines passing through the B10, we have the B313 directly here which turns in a two lame road but the B10 out of Stuttgart is similar to Autobahn though.

The B9 "Yellow Autobahn" between Koblenz and Bonn is very real Autobahn-like.

From Marburg to Gießen is a good Gelbe Autobahn too. And near Augsburg and Ulm.
The ultimate is the B6n, the maybe future A36 from Goslar to Bernburg, in the Harzvorland. |

A very good site about the Autobahn network (including Gelbe Autobahnen) is Patrick's Autobahnatlas. Go on "Karten" and you'll find maps with the complete system including Gelbe Autobahnen (dark yellow and thick brown lines) and upgiven plannings (grey), and even the AADT. Go on "Strecken" and you'll even find speed limits on every single section. Last edited by Rohne; June 25th, 2007 at 10:49 PM. |

Yeah.. that's one of the most weird road (dis)connection there is!! The lack of comunication between the motorways (French A35 and German A5) is incredible... It seems like the road systems were built completelly ignoring the neighbour country in that area... Guess that has to do with the fact that the relations between the 2 countries regarding that region were very bumpy in the XX century...

Probably. Well actully both countries are well connected with Strasbourg/Straßburg; the rest of France with motorway(s), and Germany with the A5 motorway, and then the 4-lane B28 expressway. But in case you go further, the expressway stops at the border, that is at the beginning of Strasbourg. It's located a bit too south to ever be a proper connection between Karlsruhe and Paris though.

You can take the Expressway through Karlsruhe to the Wörther Kreuz and use the B9 to Lauterburg.
Never took that Expressway, but it seems fast on the map. |

So where do you see any expressway here? I only see a tiny red line, which gets a bit thicker just before the border.

I don't mean the B9, but the expressway through Karlsruhe. Dat is een Autobahnähnliche Straße, a Motorway-like road. From there, you can pick the A65 and B9, better than driving through Strasbourg.

Sorry, misunderstanding. =) I know the A65 and the expressway through Karlsruhe (not sure, which one I used though, there are two possibilities), which is good (at least out of rush hours), but I believe it's still faster using the A5 until Baden-Baden, and so on, exactly b/c of lack of motorway/expressway in case of the B9.
