why is this fucking bridge so extremly expensive, idiots, they should buy a less expensive one and sent money to poorer European counries that the can imrpove their roads. This is fucking unfair, also towards the peo9ple of Germany who pay such fucking senceless projects, instead of improving their rosty motorways Germany spent money to build such a bridge. I hope environmentalists won´t allow this, OMG, the whole motorway network in bulgaria won´t be that expensive. fucking shit bridge.

radi seems to be very jealous.
I am glad this bridge will be build. Saves over 1,5 hours on the way to Denmark. That's like 30 - 50% driving time. 5,5 billion euro's may sound much, but if you spread it out over the next 11 years, it's affordable. |

Don't bother, it's also more as the Dutch road budget (which is like 2 - 3 billion anually, way not enough).
A Rostock - Gedsder connection seems to be an option too in the past. Strange, that link is less busy, and much longer (expensive). But with the Danish, you'll never know, they planned bridges across the Kattegat too. |

Well, I understand him
! But at least we Romanians&Bulgarians will finish the mega- super- uber- Calafat-Vidin bridge (over the Danube) ahead of them... Or maybe not... Now that I think about it, I don't believe we'll beat them to it! It's good to see Germany&Denmark aren't afraid of extremely difficult engineering challenges. AFAIK this will be the longest bridge in the world when it will be complete!

A1 - A60 Trier - St.Vith
Trier - Wittlich - Bitburg - Prüm - St.Vith This road takes us from the wineranks of the Moseltal over the Eifel, a scenic low mountain area. The section Wittlich - Bitburg is very new. Works for an extension east of Kreuz Wittlich are seen. 88 pics, Picasa webalbum

Chris, you're like an Autobahn encyclopedia!
This part of the A1 is incredibly quiet, especially when taken into account it's no. 1.Btw, I never understood that yellow sign (before viaducts/bridges) with a tank and nos. 50 and 100 (e.g. pic #82); what do they mean??

@Verso: the numbers show the maximum Military Load Class (approx. the weight of a vehicle in tons) permissable for a specific bridge.

^ Ok, but why 50 tons on the left side, and 100 on the right?

100 is permissable if the bridge is used only one way, else 50. If you look for detail you'll see the arrows under the numbers.
