indeed, some places let you as option tho :p

Like you say I would be concerned of getting targeted by police or other undesirables from being from another place... it is funny in Germany since Google Street View was unacceptable intrusion on privacy, but all drive around with their home address clearly marked on both sides of the car

So he obviously kept a home address in Italy to keep it registered on.

And let me tell you something about UK insurance: they're the most money-throbbing backward health and safety obsessed freakshow institutiion in the whole of Europe, who still not recognise the enjoyments of free movements within the EU. Most EU nationals are provided with a E-card now, entitling its citizens to free healthcar throughout the continent all year round.

Nothing. At the end of the year, depending on where I'm registered to live, the insurance changes the address and adjusts its fare.

Why is this stretch of A4 being replaced?

Yes I did. And as far as I know, re-registration is only necessary when you're going to stay abroad for more than a year. I was there for less.

The old stretch of A4 is narrow, curvy and steep.

Yes, I figured. Couldn't it be enlarged on-site? Maybe it's too steep and curvy for that to be really effective?

Really like how they use the big rocks for decoration.

6 months as far as I know. Here in Mayrhofen there is a large German and British population, and a lot of them kept their vehicles registered in their country of origin. A lot of them also got in deep trouble over it.

I wouldn't worry about. As you said yourself, you kept a home address in Italy, and you were there often enough during your time in Munich...

They should keep it as a leisure drive (1+1 with parking facilities, rest areas, a bike and walking path etc)

The actual reason for the re-alignment of the A 4 is the protected status of the Leutra valley where the A 4 currently runs. There was no legal way to widen the motorway there. Hence the enormous effort to bore a rather long tunnel accommodating six lanes.

Indeed and that´s why this idea...

...has no chance to be realized. This valley will be completely autobahn and traffic free.

However a bike and walking path should be possible in my opinion.

A7 Hamburg

http://www.shz.de/lokales/pinneberge...id6372976.html

Construction begins shortly to expand the A7 in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Construction will last 10 years to widen A7 across a 71 kilometer stretch between the Bordesholm interchange and the Elbe Tunnel.

Construction starts at a motorway bridge in Hamburg, that spans a railroad corridor. It will be replaced. Also, three new land tunnels will be constructed in Hamburg to reduce impact. These tunnels will require the most construction time, it is planned to widen A7 north of Hamburg in 4-5 years from 2014 to 2018, but construction in Hamburg itself will last longer.

A7 will feature 2x3 lanes from Bordesholm to Hamburg (A23) and 2x4 lanes through Hamburg.

There are still two sections challenged. One complaint has not a suspending effect (the works can begin on Stellingen section anyway) but I read yesterday about another complaint (Schnelsen section), The court hearing is on 14th May: http://www.bverwg.de/entscheidungen/...VerwG+9+A+3.13. One reason is quite funny:

Quote:
Quote:
The visibility of a furnishing house is excessively affected by the future noise protection walls, especially an advertising navigation tower will be hidden which has a height of 35m.
Could be an ideal for Poland

After the photos from South Germany I will present you some pics from north, between Berlin and Sassnitz. The route.

1. We start on B2, in the north part of Berlin:

2.

3. On A11. Even if the landscape is flat the motorway is not boring at all, with a lot of forests and some little hills:

4.

5.

6.
