The latter is funded now!
The first B47 section is also funded now. Construction works for the 2nd carriageway are announced to begin in 2016. Afterwards, the existing carriageway will be renewed (source). The construction works of the 2nd section is announced to begin in 2016. It should be completed by 2022.

A24 Hamburg - Gudow

The renovation of A24 east of Hamburg has been completed today. In 15 years, the 48 kilometer segment of A24 in the state of Schleswig-Holstein has been renovated. Most of this Autobahn was built in 1982. The renovation cost was € 121 million.

http://www.ln-online.de/Nachrichten/...-abgeschlossen

One of the construction companies who worked on it was bankrupted this summer, leaving the Geisterbaustelle.

Personally, i think while it'll be a nice cross-connection there's absolutely zero necessity for it.

The streets within Worms that the B47 is routed through (as the project page shows) see mostly less than 15,000 AADT today; only 10-15% of that is traffic not sourced there - meaning the new bypass will be for some 1500-2000 cars per day passing through Worms plus whoever wants to get to the other side of Worms.
Anyone who approaches Worms from the North or South - i.e. the two directions of the A61 - is better served to just switch over to the B9 somewhere ahead of Worms; in fact the closest Autobahn exit anywhere south of Worms is that of the B9 to the A6, and the Worms-Nord A61 exit puts you straight onto the B9 north of Worms bound for the industrial area.

I agree that a 4-laned road is currently not required. The magenta sections will be upgraded or bypassed:

It's different in Hesse though.

The plan approval order for the 4-laned Rosengarten bypass was passed in August 2015 and it's challenged. A supplemention is required for the plan approval order from 1971 of the Bürstadt bypass (2nd c/w). Another supplemention is required for the widening east of Bürstadt. The latter is announced to begin in summer 2016.

If the B47 in Hesse will be upgraded one day, I guess the AADT will increase in RP too. Due to the fact that the Worms bypass will feature 4 lanes and that the 2km widening b/n A61 and the future bypass costs 3 million € only, I think it's justified. A temporary solution at the western end of the bypass (4 lanes --> 2 lanes) would also cost "a lot of money".

So much is written about the bridge in Leverkusen, and so little show up. Of course this is only a tiny part of the footage and ring.

4:00 Chris' "favorite" bridge?

Mid AADT, many lanes - high AADT, few lanes.

I live south of Cologne, I know the ring road very well. I think you made that video in November (A1 at Bocklemünd was under construction and the works on A3 between K Mülhem - LEV Centrum have already been begun).
I drove only a few times on A57 but that bridge is familiar of course :-)

There's still no info about the groundbreaking for the last A72 section which is funded since July 2014.

Somethin' Skyscrapercity:

^I made this picture during a trip on the B462, near Rottweil. It's a lift test tower under construction. It will become 246 meters tall and a panorama platform will also be part of it. At a heigth of 232 meters will it be the tallest of whole Germany.

Somethin' special:

^A material ropeway crossing on the B27, between Schömberg and Dotternhausen (halfway Rottweil - Balingen, Baden-Württemberg). More precisely, a company in construction materials uses this ropeway to transport White Jurassic (limestone) from the quarry at the Plettenberg mountain to the factory.

For more info check respectively

Uhm, i did recognise that there was not much happening the whole year. Except several tubelaying (gas and water). So they "lost" a year yes. But how to get from 2017 to 2020 this way?

The construction my or may not start in spring, as newspapers say tenders for the road are in progress (road means the real thing after several bridges etc which needs to start earlier and is partly done).

If i know something i let you know. But if you do let me know. Its my "personal" motorway, so....

I'm not sure that I got what you mean but.....

53 pics of construction b/n Borna and A38 (section 5.1 and 5.2) taken on 31st October 2015: http://www.baustellen-doku.info/neub...-a38/20151031/ (there's also a map showing the location of the pics).

Some tenders have been started in 2015, supplementation plan approval procedures for both sections began in 2015,...

I think that it's not required to post all details here but there's a German forum thread about A72 construction.

Thank you for rejuvenation of the recordings.

Just want to show more feel younger.

A parkway-like freeway across the Ruhr region .

Around the center of the region, which is located on the eastern edge.

Traffic congestion at 100 kph.

PS Happy New Year
I stay still in the Ruhr industrial area.

2015 Autobahn openings

If I'm not mistaken, the following Autobahnen opened to traffic in 2015;

* 3 September: A71 Heldrungen - Sömmerda-Ost (11 km)
* 26 October: A23 Stör Bridge (5 km)
* 21 December: A14 AK Schwerin - Grabow + Groß Warnow - Karstädt (29 km)

Total: 45 km

I'm sure MichiH can provide some more exact data, including the Gelbe Autobahn / Autobahnähnliche Straße.

Road trip A72 Leipzig-Chemnitz

I took a trip yesterday from Leipzig to Chemnitz via A72. The newest section, which was opened to traffic in 2013, begins at 'Borna'. The current construction phase, an 11-kilometer section, is scheduled to be finished by September 2020! When will the final section - which leads A72 to the intercharge of A38 named 'Leipzig-Süd' - be finished is unknown.

At the intersection 'Chemnitz' of A72 and A4, in direction of Dresden. In oncoming traffic you may spot a lot of cars with polish and czech plates. They are coming back to work in Germany (or in Western Europe) after the New Year's breaks.

By me.

The road work to widen the 5.7-kilometer stretch of A6 between the intersections 'Nürnberg-Süd' and 'Nürnberg-Ost' is going to come to an end.

In terms of A3, I can only tell you all there's plenty of construction work still going on near Würzburg during the coming years.

A 40 - the Ruhr's longest parking lot. Now I know what it means.

What about the following Autobahn? Does that count?

What is the main color of Bochum? Please look at the gantries.

I got tired, so get out of here.
