Is there an official designation of that is classified as a Talbrücke?

I'm not sure. It translates to 'valley bridge'. It's a widely used term in Germany, also for bridges that are not really in a hilly or mountainous terrain. For example I've also seen them used the term 'Trebeltalbrücke' for the A20 bridge across the Trebel River near Tribsees. It is maybe 5 meters high.

I would guess it does not need more than a valley and a bridge to have a valley bridge.
Not every bridge that spans over a few meters of landscape depreswsion will be a Talbrücke, though.
Rather when the valley has had a geographical name already before the motorway was built.
Like "Treenetalbrücke" near Tarp on A7 south of Flensburg.

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talbr%C3%BCcke

A "Talbrücke" is a bridge over a valley. Big road or rail bridges are called "Viadukt". Rail bridges are called "Talbrücke" if the rail track is more than 14 meter over the ground.

It's reported that the summer was too wet and works are delayed (compared to September 2017 announcement). The section is now announced to be opened in early 2018 (February?) source

A20 Tribsees

Some new information has emerged about the A20 collapse near Tribsees in early October.

The investigation has not been completed yet, but it is clear that a larger portion of the embankment is weakened beyond the site of the collapse itself. This rules out a temporary bridge because the embankment cannot be stabilized for 2-3 years during the repair of the collapse.

They are now focusing on rebuilding the original temporary exit of A20 east of Langsdorf. It was built on piles because it runs through the same bog as A20, but the piles were demolished after A20 opened to traffic, so they have to rebuild that. They hope to open the temporary exit by summer 2018. That way traffic doesn't have to be detoured through villages.

The closure of A20 appears to be a long-term deal, likely at least until 2020. A more exact schedule can be made once the investigation is completed and a repair plan can be drawn up.

A3 widening

A section of the A3 expansion between Frankfurt and Würzburg was officially inaugurated today. It is a 15 kilometer section between Marktheidenfeld and Helmstadt.

The expansion project is located in two states; Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. In addition, the Main Bridge at Bettingen was already replaced with six lanes earlier.

This leaves two major construction zones on A3; Rohrbrunn - Marktheidenfeld (2018-2019) and at Würzburg (2019).

The A3 expansion began in 1995 according to this fact sheet by the Autobahndirektion Nordbayern, though construction already began between the Seligenstädter Dreieck (A45) and Aschaffenburg by the late 1980s.

A21

A section of A21 will open to traffic tomorrow in Schleswig-Holstein, extending the Autobahn about 2.5 km north to near Löptin.

Quick Update (12.2017):
The video confirms my info that both carriageways on the eastern 2km segment are opened (since October 2017). It was originally planned that the both carriageways on the entire section will be opened in November and will be in service during this winter. Reconstruction of the first carriageway bridges - closure of a c/w - was planned to be done from spring 2018 to fall 2018. However, works went faster and the reconstruction already started this fall. For that reason, both carriageways will be in service from October 2018 for the first time. That means, the delay is not a delay

Late 2020. source. (and the last section just east of Kassel should be opened in 2026/27 (best case) or 2030; Well, I think it's still wild guess )

The company which failed building noise barriers at A33 near Bielefeld also failed here. The contract was canceled too. The opening will likely be delayed - again - but the authority still hopes that it will be opened in 2018...

http://www.nw.de/nachrichten/regiona...in-Verzug.html

The plan approval order was issued on 2nd January 2007. Appeals were rejected on 9th July 2008. Construction works were started on 15th September 2008. The estimated construction period was 5 1/2 years.

That means, the originally planned completion date was spring 2014.

As far as I know they haven't made the connection to A30 near Löhne (west side of the project), so it can't open. They started those works several years after most of the new Autobahn was already completed.

I took this photo almost 4 years ago. It is very close to the western end of the project, but the bridges have remained unused for years now.

Kreuz Erfurt

But it can be even worse. They built this high-speed rail bridge across Kreuz Erfurt in 2001. It was put into service this week, 16 years (!) after it was completed...

It's been open for a grand total of 3 days, while the rest of the European railways aren't doing much better.

Come on, this is just petty gossip, shouldn't even make the news.

The real issue is what Chris pointed out.

Well, sir, there's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car monorail!

Well, a long delay on construction sites is not exactly unheard of, either.
