I was in Saarbrücken last friday. I have observed a couple of things at the Autobahnen in the federal state of Saarland:

1. Exit destinations signs are often over the left lane:

A1 between Trier and Saarbrücken

A6 between Kaiserslautern and Saarbrücken

2. Exit signs sometimes are over the exit lane:

A620 in Saarbrücken

A620 in Saarlouis

3. Brown touristic signs are in german and french language:

A8 near Mettlach between Saarlouis and the luxemburgian border

A620, Saarbrücken. Even the city's name is written in french.

However, instead of France, this sign at Dreieck Friedrichsthal (A8/A623) says Frankreich. But french city names are in french language (pic from Dreieck Saarbrücken A6/A620), how it should be.

4. The signs in Saarbrücken (inner city) on the A620 are pretty small and hard to read. Drive slowly (Limits are between 60 and 100 km/h)! And I find these ISO-arrows pretty ugly.

5. The Saarlanders added smileys to their construction site signs. The longer it is until the end of the zone, the worse is the smiley. Examples are from two construction sites at the A1 between Trier and Saarbrücken:

Begin of construction site

In the middle of a construction site

End of construction site

Enjoy

Nice. Those huge EXIT signs have been noticed before. I believe they're also somewhere near Nonnweiler, though I'm not sure. ISO-arrows are just not suited for motorways or other high-speed roads.

Dreieck Nonnweiler, A1 southbound.

These have been removed, I guess due to the construction site:

The information signs with the smylies are amazing, such stuff isn´t seen often on europes roads, good job. If they could apply shiny crashbarriers with the Struma shape it would be perfect.

They have some, but I would like if more of the crashbarriers would be like that. Anyway I like new German nationalroads better, they look very good and often pass through forests.

This maps contains a few flaws. I pointed to those I spotted in the hope that the creator of the map corrects them.

A lot seems to open in the next few weeks. I think especially the Amberg - A93 section of the A6 is important for through traffic to the Czech Republic.

Also A96 east of Memmingen is open. Btw, the first link seems to contain virus(es).

A treaty for the new Fehmarnbeltbrücke has been signed. The 19 km long bridge should connect Hamburg to København.

I've always been wondering about the A98 which in the original plans was supposed to pass through Swiss territory just south of Schaffhausen. If the plans are ever carried out it will be after Switzerland becomes a part of the Schengen customs area.

But how was the problem supposed to be solved in the original plans? I mean, German citizens in Büsingen are required to have a passport to travel to other parts of their own country! Anyone have any idea?

I don´t get what´s the reason to open another thread to a certain topic. The server wont break or have less space if we keep posting in one thread. It doesn´t matter how big a thread gets. The #2 threads of the countreis motorways just make people not look into the previous thread anymore [altough it is linked at the top) and that´s it, no reason to always make a #2 thread of the countries motorways threads.

Some people work during the day or go to school, like me, so I'm not online between 11:38 and 11:55 am And I don't think that I'm the only one. And about the #2: my computer has more problems to load bigger threads, so I prefer the #2's

Hey! I posted a question ten hours ago and no one has answered me! Are you guys ignoring me? It can't possibly be due to the fact that no one has a good answer, can it?
