They also have SPUI-junctions in Germany:

This one's on the L418 in Wuppertal.

Interesting. Do you know how old it is, and if it's newly added or reconstructed? That seems like a very minor road to have such an elaborate interchange.

The SPUI in Germany is much more heavily marked than American ones, that's for sure.

Is that part of the A11 the last part of the remaining unrebuilt WWII-era autobahns from the former DDR to be brought up to modern standards?

I will agree, though, that despite its relatively light traffic, that route (part of the partially completed WWII-era Berlin-Königsberg/Kaliningrad 'Berlinka' autobahn) has one of the most interesting histories of any road anywhere.

The Polish highway thread has a new photolog showing a drive on the recently upgraded/rebuilt section of this highway between Elblag, PL and the still under construction new Russian border crossing at Grzechotki (not far from Kaliningrad).

unfortunately my memory card crashed, so i have no more pics of it, all lost (@radi: and there were some great brand new shiny a-profile barriers, also on some renovation strechtes on the A48 between Koblenz and Trier, this time near Mayen, and also on the A602 near Trier. They are replacing the old barriers there during with the overall renovation (I don't know when I will be there for the next time as I moved from Trier to Frankfurt area)...), but at least i can tell you, that the other direction lanes of the A64 near Trier are under construction now, so that this small stretch between Biewertalbrücke (Bridge over Biewer Valley) and Ehranger Brücke (bridge over Trier-Ehrang) will be 2+2 in the future, too.

i mean here:

i am partly wrong. after the curve (when you're looking from west to east on the map: the marking changes in that curve. in the west it is like in the pic above, and east of it it is like the pic below), the road down to Trier-Ehrang will get new marking after the renovation of the asphalt.

the xxl-lane on the right will be reduced to normal width to forbid overtaking here and the middle line will be wider, like in the picture above, but the two lanes in the other direction will stay.

I wanted to watch it on TV but then forget about it. The guy has amazing skills, he knows everything. The crashbarrier in the studiio is great, too and he said that the new otorway had A-profile crashbarriers, A-profile are the Struma motorway like ones which are way better.

I once had a placemat with a map of the United States. When I was nine, I knew all states + capital. Unfortunately I lost it years ago, so I forgot most of them.
