Are trucks of over 4,8m in height allowed anyway?

It means: STOP high truck over 4,8m , 150m
yes, its quite strange..single sign like you posted woludn't be enough?? Maybe it's just for truck from construction site like mobile cranes...it's photo from closed motorway...maybe there would be some informations about traffic in the tunnel and behind him on the display

It's a dynamic sign, but normal hight signs can also be shown on a dynamic installation (when needed for reasons of tunnel safety).

By the way, your link only showed the first batch of pics.

here you can see the whole trip.

Is the route via Hradec Kralové faster than the D1 via Brno?

No, it took me 4 hours from Ostrava to Prague's airport using D1 (while driving through the centre since inner ring was completely jammed again). The way back took more than 5 hours because road 11 has only one lane in each direction and is going through a lot of cities and villages where you have to slow down. Moreover, part of it is currently being repaved which is causing another delay... Normally, I wouldn't use 11 but I had some business to do in Mohelnice and I did not want to waste petrol returning back 30 km from Olomouc.

Interesting interchange, but it doesn't look too safe to me.

I think it will be ok...the crossing on first picture is only for local traffic and for residents. Crossing with Hradecká street (approach road from north to city center) is here: (second picture)
