Práce na VR pokračují dost velkým tempem hlavně v prostoru MÚK Budovatelská a MÚK VRxR1xR10.
V důsledku spodní vody se provádějí sanační práce základů BIOMOSTU na 1 km VR.

Question... If for example I come from the German border on the D8 towards Praha and want to go on the D1 what road/s should I take to bypass Praha?
Google maps is giving me this

However going right through Praha wouldn't be such a good idea with traffic etc.

Is this the way to do it?

You can go both ways, there are lights on both and both are quite jam-packed, the second one is full of trucks, since they are not allowed to pass through the city centre.

That last pic - is that a real interchange or a service access road?

It's only service access for maintenance and emergency vehicles. Though, it's a complete 4-ramp diamond-type junction.

Guys, do you have any updates from construction of the new junction/approach road in Ostrava? I can't remember exact name and extent of the project, I know it includes some flyovers and bridges above railway tracks.
I think it connects D1 motorway with the center.
If anyone have latest photos it would be great.

R56, indeed:

Aerial video: http://www.ceskedalnice.cz/video/d47-sikme-brezen-2010 - it's the second part (I/56)

And at http://www.ceskedalnice.cz/vase-foto#r56 there are two "recent" photogalleries, the second one showing most of the bridges...

When I check this file:
http://www.rsd.cz/catalog/Stavime-pr...a-mistecka.pdf
I can see that the whole project is divided into three stages. Which ones are under construction at the moment? Only first?

First and second, first being more advanced. Third stage still doesn't have a building permit.

I have a few questions

Is the construction of D3 between Tábor and Veselí nad Lužnicí on schedule? And what about D1+R55 between Kroměříž and Otrokovice?

Is R49 really being built at the moment? If not, when are they going to start (ŘSD still claims October 2011 as the opening date ) ?

In what way will the construction of the first section of Vysočanská radiála improve the traffic situation in the area? Isn´t it going to cause even more problems at the intersection Poděbradská x Kbelská?

Official openeing date is still year 2011, but it seems that it's a bit unreal now, many parts of the whole stretch still don't have building permits.

October 2011 is nonsense for R49. Recently, first building permits were issued on the main track in kms 0,0 to 10,9, still many more to deal with.

The purpose of Vysočanská radiála is to relieve that intersection and connecting Kbelská and Chlumecká streets. Transit freight traffic from Usti n/L to directions Brno HK or Plzeň will be forced to use VR instead of Průmyslová.

That's a pity. Such a long and important section. So the opening of D5 from Plzeň to Rozvadov in 1997 will remain the only miracle in Czech highway building history.

Aren´t there also lots of protests from activists and locals? Because unless they build the whole motorway up to Horní Lideč at once, some towns and villages along the road will be stuck with extra transit traffic. They don´t want to end up like Velemín and Bořislav on the D8, I guess.

Oh ok. That´s perfect because the two problematic intersections on Kbelská are not only congested but also dangerous because of the slope. However, it would be ideal to modify the intersection Kbelská x D8, there are long rows of trucks there.

The interchange with R8 (Cinovecka street) will be rebuilt to complete grade-separated one (as the remaining parts were). Coming from north to VR, there won't be a single traffic light or any other limitation, whole section with 80 kmh limit...
