RD6107 is not grade-separated (source, 2).

I was to point that, is D6107 (former N7bis), not D6007 (former N7).

And speaking of former N roads (There are tons of them in France), I have walked the entire former N21B in Lourdes .

There are plans to bypass Arles by the South with a proper motorway. However, deadlines are unclear.

Thanks . Couldn't find Catteville there. The article from July 2012 says Manehouville. The estimated opening should be late 2016 according to wikisara.

A preliminary list of the new projects to be added:

N88: Albi-Giratoire de Larquipeyre – west of Albi-South (D612) 7.5km (? to 20th February 2015) [2nd c/w] – ? – map
N88: Le Puy-en-Velay/Le Montail – Malpas 8.7km (Spring 2010 to 2016) – projectmap
N27: Arques-la-Bataille – Manehouville 7.7km (July 2012 to Late 2016) – ? – map
D222: Tregueux-La Croix Gibat – Tregueux-Perray (N12) 2.5km (? to Late 2016) – projectmap

Hope it's correct .

btw: Chris, I've posted it here because I guess more (French) people following here and could improve the list if I made a mistake .

QUOTE=ChrisZwolle;121923289]20 February 2015

The final segment of the N88 around the city of Albi in Southern France has been widened to a four-lane expressway. It opened to traffic on 20 February, the official inauguration is planned for April.

http://www.ladepeche.fr/article/2015...t-ouverte.html[/QUOTE]

Yes, finally !
41 years to built 10 km for a 2x2 bypass !
The french political excellence has its finest .
But there are always 2 roundabouts at the end of this bypass to go to the northeast. Maybe, in another 40 years, they will succeed in building the last missing stretch of this bypass to avoid them.
It was a nightmare for me when I arrived there at noon or at the end of the afternoon.
Next step: the bypass of Le Puy on the same road to Lyon (N88).
Probably finished in 2017.

There are 2 further projects on N88:

1. Aménagement de Saint-Jean - La Mothe
N88: La Baraque St-Jean – La Mothe 13.7km (2010? to Q2/2015) – projectmap

2. Contournement de Baraqueville
N88: La Mothe – Les Molinières 14.3km (September 2014 to 2018) – projectmap

The opening Q2/2015 is confirmed in the latest press release.

Wikipedia says April 2015.

Detailed plans are in this press release of January 2010.

I have been to Lille area recently and noticed that most of road lamps out of built up areas do not work. Roundabouts, interchanges and motorway junctions aren't lit either. Is this situation in Lille area only or in whole country?

I think in the source that is simply a very old entry which has never been updated. They classify it in the following way:
Quote:
Sections en construction
...

Moyen terme (lancement à horizon 10 ans)
So what we are talking about is the "première phase"

That area is like Belgium. You'll notice that they take infrastructure far more serious once you get past Seclin.

A55 Marseille - Martigues

A video of A55 from Marseille to Martigues. They were renovating the large 'Viaduc de Martigues' when I passed there.

A31 Beaune - Dijon - Langres

Some photos of A31 on a sunny September morning. Traffic was light this day, but they widened A31 to six lanes between Dijon and Langres a couple of years ago. It was done mostly to handle peak summer traffic, otherwise traffic is not as intense.

Until a few years, the Belgian motorways were among the most heavily-lit in the world. Heck, you could even see The E17 and E40 from space at night.

Then, the government decided to only light difficult sections, like junctions etc. and leaving the rest dark because of light pollution and to save energy. But then the road paint wasn't adapted to it and yeah ... a typical Belgian solution .

Motorway maintenance is assigned to the regions, so there is quite a big difference between Flemish motorways and Wallonian motorways. The Walloons are now investing heavily in this, but they still have a long way to go. I for one know a junction (which leads to Flanders ...) that hasn't been completely finished surfacewise in 15-20 years

Motorways or expressways u/c

N79: Bresnay – Chemilly 6.3km (? to 2015?) [2nd c/w] – projectmap

source

Explanation:

An important project in France is the RCEA (Route Centre Europe Atlantique), which shall be an almost toll free expressway East to West. The following PDF contains an overview map of the project.

http://www.arcea.asso.fr/pdf/lettre-infos-2008.pdf

The central stretch runs from Angouleme over Limoges, Gueret and Montlucon to Bigoin using N141, A20, N145, A714, A71 and N79. The N79 from Montmarault to Bigoin in departement Allier region Auvergne is one of the central but less advanced parts of the RCEA ("point rouge" in the PDF). The following map shows the situation here:

http://www.auvergne.developpement-du..._cle0f5fde.pdf

There are only a few 2x2 stretches and one construction site between Bresnay and Chemilly doubling the lanes (purple). I travelled along this route one year ago and can confirm the situation, but I couldn't find any information when the new 2x2 stretch will open for traffic. It seems not to be in operation yet although the works are quite advanced.

The project seems to be delayed because of lack of money. So there are plans to get money from 3 toll stations:

http://www.auvergne.developpement-du..._cle741443.pdf

It is said that a concession could be given in 2018 and then the expressway would be finished in 2020, so this will take a while.

Next step will probably be a new connection to A71 at Montmarault together with a short stretch of motorway, the A714 Est which is already in this map:

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...postcount=3011

More detailed plans can be found in the following PDF (in French):

http://www.auvergne.developpement-du..._cle2ac1d2.pdf

If I got your post right, one section is u/c, additional sections are planned!?

The u/c section is shown to be completed by summer 2015 here but I guess it's out-dated. A news article from September 2014 says, "slow motion" and that a material study is in progress!? WikiSara does not feature more info. I found a post on a French forum from 24th February: No advance during winter, no machines on-site, sign still says "to be completed by summer 2015" which seems unlikely.

A50 Marseille - Cassis

The next video takes us across A50 in the Marseille metropolitan area. It starts in the Tunnel Prado-Carénage and ends at Cassis, with a view of the Mediterranean.

Yes, from what I have seen Bresnay – Chemilly is the only lane doubling under construction between Saintes and Chalon sur Saone. Between Montbeugny and Dompierre/Besbre i have seen nothing. However I can't tell about the Viaduc de Volesvres.

That news article about material study is new to me and my French knowledge is so poor that I can't give an interpretation what that means.

But I found another interesting structure on RCEA:

N141: La Vigerie – Saint-Yrieix (Villesèche) 5.5km (? to End of 2016) – projectmap

(source, the name L'Epineul is a mistake.)

This is the very important connection of N141 to N10 west of Angouleme. The existing junction at Fléac is prone to queues. The construction of the new junction was started in the early 2000s but suspended in 2006 due to interference with the high speed railway project LGV SEA (Ligne à Grande Vitesse Sud-Europe Atlantique) between Tours and Bordeaux.

What had been finished is now named N1141. Some ghost bridges can be seen in Google streetview1 and streetview2 and in this article.

But obviously the construction was not completely suspended. At the point where the future N141 will cross under the LGV a bridge is built! This can be seen in Google, too.

Now works will be resumed.
http://www.charentelibre.fr/2013/11/...ee,1867589.php
Here is some sort of tender.

The general secretary of the prefecture hopes to open the new expressway in the end of 2016
Quote:
«On espère pouvoir rouler sur le contournement de Fléac à deux fois deux voies, entre La Vigerie et Villesèche, qui est fixé à la fin 2016» , avait annoncé le secrétaire général de la préfecture lors de la rencontre avec élus et riverains de Fléac.
