That's what I was thinking/hoping for. I heard once the only serious crime in Melbourne, Australia was mob related. I lived in a Russian neighborhood in the US once(although it didn't start that way), I can live with that. It's thugs I'm not into.

If I'm allowed to be a little semi-racist here, there are almost no Ashkenazi criminals. The criminals are either Arabs, Mizrahi or Caucasians/Georgians/poor Soviets.

Aside from the arab issues, is that just thieves or between two people who know each other? It's not like Philly or Newark, NJ where Police find bodies laying around as they keep up. I doubt anywhere in the West is that bad anyway. Or other things I could think of.

Zohar, compare them to the crime rates of others, and you'll see the difference. And even when they do commit crimes, we're talking more about lesser crimes, and not the big ones - raping, murdering etc. We're just good in our nature

When I was in Israel this summer, getting a haircut, this Sfaradi guy came in and he was talking to the hairdresser. He said that the Holocaust was a good thing cause it was a 'population' control and that he hailed Singapore cause its smart country...from that show about how that guy wants to transform Israel into Singapore...eventhough SIngapore is a dictatorship where no one speaks....

I'm not disagreeing that he's stupid for thinking that population control of such a small minority to begin with was a good thing. But I have daydreamed that you guys are probably capable of creating your own version of a Hong Kong or Japan. With the technology, people, and land use regulations. Unlike those two, I thought Singapore was started by local immigration/resettling too. I would've assumed this is what he meant. But what would I know.

BTW, Make sure you finish that high speed train between the two main cities by the time I visit! I'm counting on you.
