Except for the quality of the pictures, Moscow still impressed people all over the world. The splendid architecture is amazing.

Level of life in late 1960's and early 1970's was much better than during deep economic crisis of 1980's. Of course not all pictures were taken during peak hours or on workdays. Some are taken on morning of weekend days. That's why not much of people on some shots.

well, the city wasn't really much socialistic back in 1960's. it was very capitalistic. you could have a business, just officially it was owned by the government.
