But who is joining? The Daimler is on the right side and the van on the left, maybe Daimler counts as the one joining the snelweg

In no situation should traffic already in a lane have to adjust to traffic weaving or joining in.
I know what "blokmarkering" is. But just because you can overtake in such a situation does not mean that one should overtake. Many drivers still are not really prepared for being overtaken on their right side. And maybe we should not blame them for that.

Since the driver of the Mercedes is clearly the fastest driving car on this part of the road, he clearly is the one that should adjust his speed to the speed all other cars on that part of the road are driving with. It is as simple as that. After a couple of km, after all the lane switching is done, then you see the space freeing up in order to make room for the cars who want to drive faster than average. Maintaining a higher than average speed, even if it is below the speedlimit, is only allowed if traffic conditions make this possible to do safely. If not, the faster driving cars are the ones that have to adjust their speed.

He doesn't really even need to adjust speed so much. it is pretty clear that the van will change the lanes (that kind of movement, and the indicator flashing). MB driver just kind of purposely ignored it and braked at the end and flashed, but could have easily handled it flexing ankle...

Surprised to see a Porsche 911 and a Volvo 340 in that video. Was it allowed to import Western cars into Poland at that time or were those tourists?

And most probably such cars were accessible for the closest ones to the Party's leaders or their proteges...

There's this news last year in singapore about the Chinese national driving sports cars at 2x faster (limit for city roads is 60 kph while 90kph for expressway) and then crash into something (this could be found on YouTube due to the dashcams on the taxis or cars near the area)

Police has started penalizing middle lane hoggers in Slovakia.

That's an easy job. There are almost no places where you can hog the middle lanes

The US state of Utah made illegal to kill whales. Nothing weird, if Utah wasn't a landlocked state.

They should also do that in France, in the UK and in Lithuania!

An extreme case: in France, on the N184 between Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and Éragny-sur-Oise, I had to overtake from the right a Renault 5 whose driver not only didn't intend to return to the right lane, but he was driving 50km/h instead of 90. I was very patient because I waited behind him around 800m before doing that.
A policeman on a motorcycle then stopped me and I started arguing with him. I told him "if you fine me, them go catch that guy and fine him too because that's how they do in the rest of Europe and France must ALWAYS be the cultural exception." In reality, by "the rest of Europe I meant Germany
Anyway... I didn't get the fine.

Fortunately in Poland it is legal to overtake on right side.
