So what's the deal along century ave? Is the sunken path the subway, and they're in the process of covering it up, or...? Initially it looked like the beginning of a road tunnel underneath Huangpu.

Hmmm not really good ones. From the Jin Mao tower it's really hard to take a good picture of the site because there is a big ledge around the observatory floor and the observatory deck from SWFT is just to high I can't zoom in that much with my camera. I got a few pictures where you can see a tiny part of the site, not really worth it to post.

Kidding? There's insane demand for everything related to consumption in China.

I heard that the IFC Mall will be one of the most (if not the most) exclusive in Shanghai.

Currently there isn't a luxury shopping mall in Pudong like Nanjing West Road (Plaza 66, Citic Square, etc are all luxury shopping centers in Puxi). The superbrand mall near IFC is very middle class.

I don't think it will be more upscale than Plaza 66, which has pretty much the largest store in Shanghai of all the luxury brands.

Mall in the center of Pudong Business Districit. I see a threat to the current center of Shanghai, Fuxi. I have a feeling that they are going to make Pudong the next "Sixth Avenue" of New York or "Champs Elysee" of Paris (two of the most expensive district in the world). They are doing it brilliantly. The only problem is the main roads are too wide. It makes Pudong look like non-walkable area. They have to either narrow the main roads or build an underground expressways to accommodate the traffic. Either way, the traffic will be shortened once the Metro station is finished.

I agree on that one. The Super Brand Mall was even overcrowded in the evenings. its insane. They sure could use another mall there.

yes both gucci and lv have their flagship store on west nanjing road,

and although the ifc mall is right opposite to the superbrand mall, but i think these two will barely have a collision effect on each other because both are aimed at different classes
