I like how the island shapes out, reminds me of lower manhattan. Its been a long time since I've seen 800 foot tall buildings look so small.

I agree...it does kinda look like lower manhattan...they need to make it more dense. Wonder what it'll look like in 10 years...

It is taller than lower Manhattan and it is not supposed to be very dense.

I really like these two tower, original but not too eye catching. A great addition to an already outstanding skyline.

depends on how you look at it. if you mean site coverage it's very spread out and doesn't feel at all dense. but if you mean amount of space per unit of land area then it is extremely dense. personally i'd prefer it to be dense in both aspects, being so spread out it's very inconvenient walking between places there.

What kind kind of question is that?
I think it is up to Louis Vuitton to determine whether a LV store is "needed" or not.

China is the second biggest market for luxury goods on the planet (25% of the world's luxury goods are sold in China).

Perhaps LoveCPH meant "is ANOTHER Louis Vuitton needed", as there is already a rather large one in Plaza 66. I'm sure that many people are aware that China is now one of the largest markets for luxury goods in the world.

I'm sure he meant that too, but it is still an odd question considering the size of Shanghai and Chinese people's hunger for luxury goods.

@ Davieb I am sure he did nto mean that . If he really was a person who knew that there is already a liuos vutton in plaza 66 .Her would know enough about China to not pose that ridiculous question .
His logic was bare simple how can people from China who make 2 USD every week can afford loius vutton apparel .When me working in mcdonals in new jersey can't afford that .
Yeah anyway it is high time for average Joe in US to realise . That neither AMerica nor UK nor France is the largest luxury market it is Japan followed by China . Ofcourse they are opening another Store . Just like Apple plans to add another 20 stores.

You would be surprised at the ridiculous amount of wealth in Chinese cities like Shanghai... the concentrated amount of millionaires in Shanghai almost or does outnumber the amount in New York City. I recall a visit to a Shanghai Rolls-Royce dealership in a tv program that came out a little while ago and how there were NO Rolls-Royces in the dealership because the dealership simply couldn't keep them in stock.

116.000 multimillionaires and 7000 billionaires (RMB) in Shanghai alone. Even more in Beijing.
