They only need to add a corporate name to the top of the other tower!

Shanghai IFC Mall wins MIPIM Asia 2010 Best Shopping Centre and Participants’ Choice Awards
SHKP Press Release
23 November 2010

Sun Hung Kai Properties’ Shanghai IFC Mall won MIPIM Asia 2010 Best Shopping Centre and Participants’ Choice awards. The mall has won industry praise as a stand-out project in Asia and sought-after address for many international retailers.

MIPIM Asia is an annual real estate conference and exhibition in the region, and the awards recognize outstanding business centre, shopping centre, hotel and resort, green buildings and Chinese projects. The Best Shopping Centre awards recognized projects with outstanding environmental, market positioning, architectural and technical achievements as well as top quality, and the Participants’ Choice award was voted on by industry professionals at the conference.

There were 79 projects from ten countries under consideration in this year’s awards. Shanghai IFC Mall in the Lujiazui financial district of Pudong won for its unique design concept and international flavour that turns a new page in Shanghai retailing, according to the judges and industry participants.

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency General Manager (Leasing) Maureen Fung was pleased with the awards, saying: “Sun Hung Kai Properties believes in ‘building homes with heart’ and it continues developing quality projects in Hong Kong and on the mainland. Shanghai IFC Mall is a major step in the company’s retail progress on the mainland with its up-market positioning and crystal fašade.”

The mall is in a prime commercial area and covers over 1.1 million square feet, filled with more than 180 premium international retailers and the world’s finest restaurants. Over 25 the world’s most famous names have set up flagship stores in the mall including Louis Vuitton’s largest single-level store in the world and the first Apple store in Shanghai. Some 15% of the tenants are in mainland China for the first time and 40% for the first time in Shanghai.

Shanghai IFC mall was designed by the well-known American firm Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and the interior by noted Benoy Architects. The glittering, multifaceted crystal fašade with highlights of champagne gold and creamy white is a proud addition to the Shanghai skyline.

About Shanghai IFC

Shanghai IFC is an integrated commercial complex with a top-quality shopping mall, five-star Ritz-Carlton Hotel, two grade-A office towers and premium serviced apartments. It is an ideal spot for shopping, leisure and living, with modern specifications and facilities and professional property management to suit multinational corporations.

如果真是300m的方案,不要说金茂,从外滩连看环球都要被挡住。。

It's not all that polluted. Shanghai has a rather odd climate for its location, and has relatively high humidity, resulting in lots of fog and low lying clouds, though pollution is part of it, it isn't the whole thing like it is in LA.

The architect is Cesar Pelli. KPF designed the WFC.

the entire world knows chinese cities are extremely polluted due to all those polluting factories and increasing number of automobiles. tests have shown shanghai's air is way worse than los angeles now. my coworkers say shanghai/beijing's air is like los angeles in the 70's/80's before the govt. passed stringent regulations on automotive exhaust like smog checks.

Pff have you ever been there? I've had lots of days with clear blue sky. And the air on that photo is not even that bad.

Weird to think that this building is now already higher than most of the buildings in my area

Edit: woops, I was talking about the core of the Shanghai Tower. Thought it was the thread about the Shanghai Tower for a sec.
