Not all Catholic church as cathedral
Not all cathedral as Catholic Church.

A church entitled to be a cathedral, must have a "seat" - for a Bishop (Uskup = Bahasa Indonesia).

Besides Roman Catholic there are still many Church Organisations who have their own Bishops and of course "seat" for them. For example, Anglican Church, Lutheran, Orthodox, etc.

In London (England) there is a big Cathedral St. Paul where Lady Diana Princess of Wales and Prince of Wales Charles got married. This Cathedral is not Catholic Church but Anglican Church.

"seat" = this also means The Office of the Bishop !

Yes, I have heard the presence of Unitarian Church in Indonesia, but don't have much information about them. Seems like their head office is in Semarang - Central Java.

They call themselves Jemaat Allah Global Indonesia (JAGI), (Indonesian Church of God). This is the Indonesian Unitarian Universalist organization....

Hopefully some friend will give us more information and of course picture of their church as the title of this threads.

There are many threads discussing religions in the internet and I think this is not one of them.

Anyway, I think the differences are in how they know and worship God.
More less like in Hinduism they have Shaivism, Shaktism, Vaishnavism, and Smartha. In Buddhism, they have Mahayana, Theravada, and Vajrayāna Buddhism. And in Islam they have Sunni, Shi'ite, and Achmadian, etc.

GPIB Penabur, Gereja ini tidak terlalu besar... tapi lokasinya sangat strategis, berada di Kawasan Gladak, di pusat kota Solo (Km 0)


...mungkin Gereja ini termasuk bersejarah dan bangunannya dulu menjadi salah satu landmark Kota, namun sekarang tenggelam diapit gedung2 baru yang tinggi dibelakang dan sebelahnya

Very nice picture of church and multi-storey buildings in Solo.
Is it really KM 0 of Solo City ?
Just for our information, in Paris (France) - the Cathedral Church of Notre Dame is also the KM 0 of City of Paris.

Saya kira bukan gerejanya yang km 0, tapi kawasan gladaknya yang km 0.
Di sebagian besar kota di Indonesia, km 0 selalu dihitung dari kawasan Kantor Pos pusat sebagai media komunikasi antar kota terawal pada masanya.
Kantor pos pusat di Solo juga di kawasan Gladak?

Ini gereja katedralnya Semarang.
Gereja yang cukup tua ini (dibangun 1926), memang jarang dibahas. Tapi uskup pribumi pertama lahir dari keuskupan ini, yaitu Mgr Sugiyapranata. Dan 2 orang Kardinal (pembantu utama Paus), pernah lahir dan memimpin keuskupan dan berkarya dari gereja ini, yaitu mendiang Mgr Yustinus Cardinal Darmoyuwono Sj dan Mgr Yulius Cardinal Darma Atmaja Sj, yang sekarang menjabat Uskup Agung Jakarta. Terima kasih, sekarang saya faham. Di Medan juga yang menjadi KM 0 adalah Kantor Pos Pusat yang berada di salah satu hoek Lapangan Merdeka.
