Finished, also part of A1,with 4 lanes. It ends at the border.Morina is still the crossing border between Albania and Rep.of KS..only the building will be re-contructed.

No,is not part of A1.Since 2008..to reach Fushė kruja from Vorė is used the highway of "Mother Tereza" airport.(As is new and better than the old one).

SH1 is marked as Tiranė-Shkodėr-Hani i Hotit. From Tirana to Shkodėr the actual road will be upgraded in 4 lanes. The first section of it ..F.Krujė-Milot has finished. As SH2 is marked Tiranė-Durrės aut.which is in 4 lanes.I dont now for new signs..but the new motorway Tiranė-Elbasan had to be A2.

Ok back to topic.

Tirane-Elbasan Highway looks like is going to be financed by Islamic Bank of Development. On favorable interest rate terms. Construction and engineering companies from United States, Germany, Turkey, Austria, Greece and Albania competing for the tender. It includes a 4.2km tunnel.

Current state of the road (curvy, mountainous, narrow). It's all going to change...

Looks like greek company Aktor has been selected as the winning bid to construct Tiranė - Elbasan motorway. This has yet to be confirmed by the Ministry of Transportation.

I read the *bids* were more or less equal. So my question now is how did they come up with the company Aktor as an winner? I am sure some bribes were involved in that as allways. When it comes to corruption we from the balkans tend to be on the same level. Still its a shame stuff like this happens even now.

Aktor is the major contruction company in Greece. They have done some impressive work and are involved in some of the major infrastructure projects in that country.
But most importantly, they were chosen because they came up with the best offer.

Aktor was chosen in Montenegro to build Bar-Boljare motorway but they failed to provide money from banks. Maybe they will succeed in Albania.

There is still no official announcement from the Ministry of Transportation. Just what is reported in the media.
