^ Italy has all three signs. But I don't know the speed limit of the motor-route sign, probably 90 km/h.

But were there border crossings in communist times? I remember something like there were no border crossings between the two countries.

Of course there are crossings, the main border crossing between Greece and Albania is the one in Kakavia if i am not mistaken, as for the time to cross it well i don't know but given that Greece is in the schengen treaty and Albania not, there are plenty of checks to be done, plus when the Albanian immigrants in Greece are returning to their families then its a nightmare to cross that.

As Dardani said it's the border-crossing in Morine between Albania and Kosova.

IDK, but it's been almost two decades since then. C'mon Chris, no border crossing between Albania and Greece, wtf?

In the moment, there is very comfortable 1+1 road in tohe most of the lenght. Albanians have signed it like a motorway. But there are roundabouts in some places.

What do you mean? It's hard to answer such a question. A "blue motorway" is a motorway equipped with the blue motorway sign in the upper picture, a "green motorway" is a motorway equipped with the green motorway sign in the upper picture. The "green motorway" is clearly better, and for the "blue motorway" it's better to use expression "expressway". Italians call them "superstrada", and the real (green) motorways they call "autostrada" (like Albanians). I don't know if Albanians have a special expression for "blue motorway". They also vary in speed limit and technicalities.

I understand now. so blue motorway is actually expressway and green motorway is a normal motorway

There are 2 current border crossings with Greece, Kapshticė and Kakavijė and a 3rd segment, Qafė Botė has already secured funds to begin construction later in the year.
Konispol - Qafė Botė segment has a length of 40.5 km and the estimated construction cost is 50 million euros.

In albanian it's the same like in italian:

Expressway - Superstrada
Motorway - Autostrada
