Is there any progress on the road Vlore-Sarande-Konispol? The company of Egnatia Odos declared its "intention" of constructing the Greek part of the axis from Igoumenitsa to Sagiada and the Albanian border. The road now is a 1-1 narrow lane road, but the intention is to upgrade it to a freeway standard (not motorway though).

I think it should be mostly prioritized by both countries, since it's the most potentially touristic axis. But, what am I saying, with this rate of counstructions in Greece, it's most probable that Albania will have completed all of its motorways, and we'll still be trying to figure out what to do.

What is "freeway standard"?

I don't know the exact way of saying it in english. It's the same thing as the superstrada in Italy and the autovia in Spain. It's better than the usual "national roads" but it's not a fully closed autobahn/motorway which allows speeds of 120 kmph and over.

Names of cities, towns, villages in maps are always written in their indefinite form. Vorė, Durrės, Milot, Levan, Elbasan are written in their correct form. The rest need adjustment:

Morinė, Dibėr, Tiranė, Rrogozhinė, Qafė Thanė, Kapshticė, Tepelenė, Vlorė, Kakavijė.

This is one of those segments we have no visual updates on. Construction of Sarandė-Konispol-Qafė Botė (40km) is being carried out by greek company AEGEK. Work started as early as Nov '08 but so far as I know this segment has not been fully complete yet.
Last info was from August '10 when the Transportation Minister went to inspect the construction progress. Olldashi claimed then that more than 1/2 of the road had been asphalted but didn't go much further into explaining the details.

Normally than in Netherlands some cities has very high perc of ab/km and so they must build with 3 or more lanes . I have been some weeks ago in Rotterdam has passed the Rott ring but have never seen 4 meter wide emergency lane in higways recently reconstructed . Only in one occasion , where i was out of a coffe shop the emergency lane was 6 meter

Apart Tetove-Shkup highway, and Shkup-Oher, I don't know for any other, and there is no doubt, that region urgently needs more highways, especially those which will connect Kosova and Albania with Dardania region.
Kosovo dont see Serbia like an economic partner or a good neighbour. Thank you to serbia that has closed their border for commerce to Kosovo , Albania has expanded this one and Kosovo has find another economic partner . Serbian can use that motorway and the albanian one to conect with montenegrian see and Serbian ports .Maybe they said if Serbia will be a serious gov they may expand it until the border

Th R7 motorway will reach to Besi (village north of Prishtina) which is only about 20km from the border with Serbia. There is no need for R7 motorway to reach Serbia as the R6 will be used to connect R7 with Skopje ie. Pan-European Corridor X. 20km can be upgraded later when Serbia is prepared to connect Kosovo with the city of Nis.

The onliest thing concrete is that Tiranė-Durrės and Tiranė-Shkodėr will be transformed into fully motorways..probably right after Tiranė-Elbasan and "Arbėri" road (Tiranė-Dibėr/Tetovė-Shkup) will finish. These are from PM mouth..In fact, these are old projects, but delayed to the importance of Kosova road.
