Interesting!!

Check out the stone cladding in the Durrės - Morinė project... it reminds me of the cladding they used at Rinas Airport. Can anyone guess why they're doing it like that?
Is it to support the shallow land slope??

Im guessing because of the terrain of the slope. But it looks pretty good.

It sure does.
You know what else i'd like to see, palm trees along the future newly expanded Tiranė - Durrės highway. And they should use the same lighting polls we see today at the entrance road to Durrės (Rruga e Plepave).

I have a question to you 7t, are these new highways projects with amergency lanes and barriere in the middle? And will all the new highways that you mentioned here be 4-laned highway?

I'd like to see something similar along the whole stretch like it's illustrated here in front of QTU

Is that railway in construction beside new motorway? Bridge look too narrow for ordinary road.

That's a good question. It may very well be judging by the fact that it splits into a different direction.

I don't think it is a road, because it is way too narrow for a road, and why would you construct another road bridge next to another road bridge which is much bigger.

Seems like an access road to the future highway if you ask me..cause it clearly ends inside the line of the "fat" bridge

If you'd make an entry road over there, why do it there? I mean, you have to construct another bridge, while there seems to be enough room on the other side of the river to make an exit or sth like that

I am a bit jelaus of Macedonia and Serbia having better motorways than us. Sometimes i wonder, are the Albanian goverment thinking seriously when they build motorways? Why on earth are they not putting amergency lanes and barriere in the middle? Look at this Serbian motorway near Sremska Mitrovica:

You see? We dont have motorways like that. Look at the picture how mutch space it has. We dont have that kind of roads (expect of the new motorway that connects Albania and Kosovo, I hope). Thats why I want amergency lanes and barriere in the middle.

Dont look at Macedonia and Serbia who built most of their highways in the Yugoslav era, and its a good thing when your neighbours have good highways makes it easier to access nothing to be jealous about.

It's a good oppurtunity for Albania to get a good motorway network, it is a good PR for the rest of the world. And all new motorways are more modern than Serbia's and Macedonia's motorways, because they're newer of course

Macedonia built lot of highways after Yugoslavia time as well, Serbia also built some new highways so not all of them are form YU time.

You are very wrong with the new roads being built everywhere in Albania, and especially the Mega-project Durres- Kukes highway , the vast majority of these projects will have been complete until then end of 2009 ... albania will be ahead of those nations ... !

are you serious?
Maybe in 20 years if macedonia and serbia don“t build anything.
I speak from experience I have visited all of the countries. Albania will need at least 20 years to get secondary infrastructure (local, regional and national roads) like Macedonia and Serbia have now.
