It's funny that a serb from the RS is looking forward to drive on a motorway which unites in many aspects the albanian people of kosova (you know ... the "heart" of Serbia) with albania.

EDIT ChrisZwolle: English only.

enough offtopic.

Are there pics of the section from Milot to Rreshen?

Maybe he doesn't care about the political aspect of it and wants to enjoy passing by this road for what it is. It is a regional road as well, not just another segment on my country's map.

I'm very surprised by the large amount of motorway under construction in Albania which I believe is still Europe's poorest country.

I would really like to see a map showing the roads being built or finished right now and including future ones?

I believe Moldova is poorer, and they're not really moving forward, which Albania obviously is.

However, I believe the Durrės - Kukės motorway is the only real motorway U/C right now, I believe the others are high quality express roads (2x2 but without completely controlled access).

Your comment is very misleading. Albania is pretty much on par with her balkan neighbours (excluding Greece) and in fact will surpass both Montenegro and Macedonia in the very near future. We have the fastest growing economy in the region and have invested heavily in road and energy infrastructure.
The next 10 years will show Albania as the top energy producer in the Balkans with a well developed road network, home to the largest port in the region and a member of the EU.

If you didn't see this thread you'd still believe nothing was happening in Albania

i second that, in fact did you know that albanias minimal wage is larger than of some countries that are in EU ? like romania and bulgaria ...

This is just a small indicator ... but it shows a lot ....

And did you know Bulgaria and Romania have working and under construction NPPs? I doubt Albania could afford it and become "the top energy producer in the Balkans" ...

Anyway, congratulations for the roads!

Anyway, congratulations for the roads!

only this year contracts of more than 3,5 BILLION euros have been signed with various companies for energy production .... ! And thats a fact ...

plus there are some other companies that will sign more than 2 billion euros contracts with the albanian goverment in the near future

so you shouldn't doubt at all !

My father works with Canadians in Albania. All the Canadians love it there. They love the low prices, the beaches, and the energy of the people as shown by the improvement that country is undergoing.

Some of them have moved there with their families and their kids integrated and go to highschools. Like 7t said, in the future Albania will easily surpass some of her Balkan neighbors and even be a luxurios tourist destination. Ireland too was once called the "poorest" in Europe. Albania with the development of highways, incentives for doing business is following in Ireland's footstep. Just give it a little time.
