Nice to see the Ringroad thread,
I guess the Peripheral Ring Road is almost completed between hosur road and tumkur road (constructed by NICE along with the BMIC expressway). A small connection for this road from electronic city seems to be still pending. |

Good Initiative Indiansunite and thanks Babji for the ring map
Hope a few pictures will do good to this thread Outer Ring Road, nearing Hebbal from South east. ![]() Most times Bangalore is being criticised citing bad infrastructure. Yes, there is some truth, but I feel things are getting better. See how fast you can drive on a monday evening 6.15 PM. Yes, the traffic helds up at intersections, but with more flyovers and underpasses coming, the situation will be better. There was an Underpass u/c a little after this point. Moving south east to KR Puram from Hebbal ![]() Flyover near KR Puram.

I am not sure if that map posted by Babji is correct. The ring in purple according to the key is the intermediate ring road. This road by NHAI is going to be a full ring of around 250 kms and not 130km as the key states. Plus the DPR by NHAI would only be out by Jan08...so that purple road has to be something else.
more details on the IRR

That Map give's a very clear picture of the Ringroad's..
From the map its shows that the BMIC Peripheral Road and the Peripheral Ring Road planned are almost parallel between Hosur road and Tumkur road. The distance between the planned Peripheral Ring Road & BMIC Road is reported to be only 2kms for most of the distance. I really feel that the planned Peripheral Ring Road should be little far away from the BMIC Road between Hosur road and Tumkur road, otherwise no one will use the BMIC Peripheral road just because they have to pay the TOLL for almost the same route and distance. CRR: circular Core Ring Road (CRR). Here is an earlier map by Vadi from Aprl 2006...
Note there are two peripheral roads planned for b'lore. 1. BMIC Peripheral Road-BMICPR and 2. BDA Peripheral Road -BDAPR. BMICPR- private (toll) BDAPR - sarkaari (free) The BDAPR will circumscribe the entire city and will be approx 110 kms. The BMICPR is currently only a semi circle that connects major radial roads on west, south and east blore. They have ideas about adding a North-South alignment Devanahalli ARPT to the eastern end of BMICPR - (think of a sickle). But all this is subject to clearance and all BDAPR - still acquiring land(advanced stages). no construction BMICPR- land acquired by Govt-but not all needed land given to BMIC, construction in advanced stages. Circular BDAPR encircles semi-circular BMICPR. BMICPR is outside the existing circular Outer Ring Road(ORR). ORR encircles an exisitng quarter circle road called IRR. IRR will be outer to the proposed circular Core Ring Road (CRR). BDAPR plans to support 5 bus depots and 5 truck terminals. BMICPR is also planning truck and bus depots. |

Inner Core Ring Road
... BBMP has planned the two-way, four-lane, elevated Inner Core Ring Road to connect 50 important junctions of the city. This will enable motorists to cruise along the road in 30 minutes. One can reach the Rajajinagar Entrance from Makkala Koota (Shivashankar Circle) in less than 10 minutes. The road will connect important locations of the central business district such as the Yeshwanthpur and the Karnataka Bhavan junctions, the Shivshankar Circle (near Makkala Koota) and the Gurdwara, the Jayamahal Road and the Audugodi Road junctions. naah, there's no such news about the IRR expanding inside the city. The only ring inside the city is the proposed ICRR.
The new proposed IRR would be the 250km ring by NHAI |
