Toggle on the historical view. It's the button that looks like a clock. Move the slider so that you can see the date of the last image.

An RUB under construction, just beyond the junction. This is the reason behind the Nagarbhavi-Nayandahalli section of the road remaining closed. Delays in obtaining clearence from the railways stalled work for a long time. The Bangalore-Mysore railway line is visible on top of the RUB.

Still the same view from Mysore road, on the ORR juction. Don't know about work on other side

Good news on ORR near sarjapur road side. Both flyovers last stretch of slab is supported by construction pillars. Two flyovers maybe thrown open in a month.

No breather for HSR Layout residents
Construction Of New Flyover Will See Traffic Diverted Through The Area Yet Again
Sunita Rao R | TNN

Bangalore: For those staying in HSR Layout, traffic woes seem to be unending. With the BDA constructing another flyover in the area, harried residents will have to bear the brunt of traffic diversions yet again.
As it is, due to construction of Agara and Iblur flyovers, they had to put up with traffic snarls for over one-and-a-half years. The new flyover work which has started on 14th Main is directly affecting residents of Sectors 6 and 7.
“It appears that we are being taken for granted. Traffic diversion to a residential area has created so much of chaos,” said R S Hiremath, vicepresident of HSR Layout residents’ welfare association (RWA).
Brigadier R S Murthy, president of HSR Layout Sector-2 RWA, said in the last 3-4 years, people of this area have been subjected to tremendous hardships, thanks to flyover work.
“During 2007-08, it was bridge work at 14th Main and the Ring Road junction. The work lingered on for over 15 months. During this time, all entry points to HSR Layout except for one or two were closed from the Ring Road side.”
In 2009-10, traffic from Sarjapur and Ring Road was diverted to HSR Layout, again because of the Agara Circle flyover. “Why didn’t city planners think of building the new flyover two years ago when bridge construction was on at the same place? We fear this time too incoming traffic from Madivala side will be diverted to HSR Layout,” Murthy said.
AGARA FLYOVER

• With the completion of Agara flyover, residents of HSR Layout Sectors 2, 3 and 4 could have heaved a sigh of relief. But with the new flyover project, problems are back to square one.

• The Iblur and Agara flyovers built at Rs 93 crore connect commuters from Bellandur to Agara.

• The 525-metre Agara flyover connects Sarjapur Road to Silk Board junction. “Work here will be over by July 1,” said a BDA official.

Roof garden, loo on underbridge
Sunitha Rao R | TNN
Bangalore: A park on an underbridge? This surely typifies Bangalore city, which is still trying to look bright and fresh, despite its swiftly balding green cover.
Residents of Nayandanahalli and surrounding areas will shortly have a unique park atop the newly constructed underbridge. By the end of May, the park will tinkle with fountains just next to the elevated service road on Nayandanahalli, and will be a first of its kind.
There will also be a Sulabh Shouchalaya nearby.
With the construction of this railway underbridge by Bangalore Development Authority, the 800-metre stretch of Outer Ring Road completes full circle, circumscribing the city. The Outer Ring Road at this stretch also contains an important railway crossing of the Bangalore-Mysore line. BDA has also taken a decision to connect this ORR under the railway line and avoid a level crossing at Nayandanahalli, situated in the heart of Bangalore city. The underbridge, which will be open for public use by the end of May, does more than connect the two parts of the city.
M H M Sreeprakash, executive engineer of BDA, told The Times of India that the roof garden will reduce temperatures by 2-4 degrees in the surrounding areas. Besides, BDA has plans to let creepers grow on the wall of the service roads next to the underpass. “We have plans of not painting the walls, but developing the stretch as a green wall, with the help of creepers,” said Sreeprakash.
As per the survey conducted by the Public Welfare Department in February 2010, 1.25 lakh vehicles commute from Magadihalli to this junction every day. Construction of the railway underbridge has been entrusted to Nagarjuna Construction Company Limited on tender basis.
On the roof garden, there are provisions made to instal solar panels so that the underpass will be illuminated by solar lights and need not depend upon Bescom power.
RAINWATER HARVESTING
According to BDA officials, for the first time in the city, a rainwater harvesting system has been designed near the underpass for a capacity of 6,00,000 litres of water, as a means of supply to plants, and to charge borewells. The same water will also be utilized in the Sulabh Shouchalaya installed atop the underbridge.
NO WATER CLOGGING HERE
Water usually clogs underpasses, especially during the monsoon, and there have been instances of buses stuck in the water. To avoid this, grating drains have been introduced to allow rainwater to seep into the groundwater chamber.
MORE ON THE BRIDGE This underbridge links Sumanahalli Junction to Mysore Road This bridge cuts travel by about 5.5 km Underbridge is technically called ‘cut and cover’ Is 170 metres long, and built at a cost of Rs 79 crore Work began in June 2008

With the monsoon about to halt construction soon, I'm wondering if anyone has seen the state of the ORR / Mysore Road junction more recently than February, when SBC-YPR posted some great photos?

I was at Nagarbhavi Circle on Monday and the ORR there looked ready to open to traffic. I didn't have time though to head down to the Mysore Road junction to have a look.

Boss. The purpose of the Railways being given more power is simply for SAFETY.
Imagine if someone build a weak ROB/RUB and it collapses?

It was there last week also.
BUT, for it to be open, it has to be complete. There has to be a road under the tracks... which doesn't exist..

In that case, it's clear that the ORR north of Mysore Road cannot open much before the end of the year. :-(

I'm not expecting a lot of progress during monsoon season. Perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I won't be surprised if the land below the tracks gives way in the monsoon, and the road is built at hyper speed.. :p

According to this it should have been opened by May end. Good even if they open by June end
It will reduce chord road and mysore road traffic by a lot
