Are you satiated due to the Nordstrooss? If not, even both directions during rush hour.

Downstream of prevailing traffic.

A congestion in the opposite direction.

It's reported that the 1st carriageway will be opened as a two-way road in late August or early September. The 2nd carriageway will be opened in late 2016 and the existing roundabout will be reconstructed till summer 2017. Source (in German).

It was announced to be opened at 6AM but one lane per direction only. The 2nd carriageway is announced to be completed by December 2016 and the interchange is to be completed by late 2017.

A13 Hellange

I drove through Luxembourg today, there was a traffic jam on A3, so I took A13 east to Frisange and then N3 to Luxembourg.

The new A13 near Hellange is full motorway standard, but only one carriageway is in service with traffic in both directions on a single lane. The Hellange exit is still closed.

Liason Micheville - Belval

The Micheville - Belval connection (from Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg to Audun-le-Tiche, France) opens to traffic tomorrow. The international link includes a tunnel under the Belval redevelopment project in Esch-sur-Alzette.

I think it has been opened at night from Friday to Saturday, 17th December.

From this weekend all lanes in both directions on the A13 motorway connecting Esch-sur-Alzette to Schengen will be open, and it only took 15 years to complete!

A7

I filmed the entire A7 from Luxembourg to Ettelbruck. Here's a timelapse video. The new tunnels have extremely smooth pavement, but the speed limit is a bit on the low side.

Pont Adolphe

The Adolpe Bridge in Luxembourg City has reopened to traffic Saturday after a 3-year closure for renovation and strengthening. The bridge was originally opened to traffic in 1903.

A3

The media reports that A3 is going to be widened to six lanes all the way from the French border to the Croix de Gasperich in Luxembourg City. That's pretty much the entire motorway.
The project involves the A3 motorway being upgraded from two to three lanes on each side between the French border and the Gasperich cross. A hard shoulder will also be added to either side.

The interchanges of Livange and Dudelange will be completely redesigned and important adaptations are planned for the Bettembourg interchange.
http://www.wort.lu/en/luxembourg/a3-...e74263e13ad15f

A widening was earlier adopted in the 2015-2018 construction programme, but only between Gasperich and Bettembourg, not to the French border.

I wonder if fuel taxes in Luxembourg are still that low that the gas stations still sell insane amounts of fuel daily. I remember some years ago that Berchem rest area stations were the highest ones in volume sold per day in Europe, to the point they would need more than 30 truck loads daily if they did not have a pipeline connection.

Metz - about 1,32 EUR
Namur - approx 1,290 EUR

Saarbruecken: 1,355 EUR

Trucks are the ones gobbling most fuel at that station, I'd guess. Unless cars are travelling long distance, doesn't pay off to stop there to refuel. For trucks, it does pay off to schedule strategic refuel at a place 15 or 20% cheaper...

When I drive back "home" I even check fuel prices online to see lowest price and tank there...

A7 Luxembourg - Ettelbruck

Some photos of A7 from Luxembourg (city) to Ettelbruck. I took them last September on the way back from Basque Country to the Netherlands (makes sense, right? )

1. The A1-A7-N51 interchange.
