How fast shall Tangshan-Zhangjiakou railway be?
Where shall Beijing-Tianjin high speed railway be extended to?
In which months shall these three railways respectively be opened for scheduled passenger service?

ZhangTang(张唐) railway is another dedicated heavy haul coal line to divert the coal trains away from Beijing railway hub, 120km/h top speed between Zhangjiakou(张家口) and Chengde(承德), 160km/h from Chengde(承德) to Caofeidian(曹妃甸) in Tangshan(唐山).

But Beijing-Tianjin line already extends through Binhai: Tianjin-Qinhuangdao high speed railway has stations at Binhai and Binhai North. So where does the new branch go?

Extention:
Tianjin station -> Tianjin Airport -> Yujiapu CBD (terminus station, south of Binhai area)

A bit confusing that all news say "Tianjin New airport" instead of Tianjin Binhai International Airport, which is the official name. Not sure if ther is a new airport in discussion for Tianjin, but unlikely.

How about "Tanggu Airport"?

For Sunday, 15th of March, 2015 I found 9 trains Guangzhou-Shanghai. 4 of them are daytime G trains Guangzhou South-Shanghai Hongqiao. The 5 sleeper trains include:
D937, also Guangzhou South-Shanghai Hongqiao
Z100, Guangzhou East-Shanghai
T170, Guangzhou-Shanghai South
2 K trains, both Guangzhou-Shanghai South.

For comparison, Guangzhou-Beijing seems to have 7 sleeper trains:
2 D trains, D924 and D904
4 Z trains, Z36, Z98, Z202 and Z14
no T trains
1 K train, K600

Couple of videos for you.

Firstly, a night panorama at Beijing Railway Station.

And my walk to the station past a Hutong in the centre of Beijing.

Tunnel that connects Beijing and BJ West to be operational 20th March, 2015
Travel time: 15 minutes
Single ticket: 8 yuan
Initially there will only be one pair of trains connecting the two stations, but schedule will adjust as time comes

Found a news piece on Sohu News;

The jist of it is;

K7742 goes from Beijing West to Beijing at 23:50 and arrives at 00:05
K7741 goes from Beijing to Beijing West at 03:37 and arrives at 04:02

The 8 RMB fare is for hard seat (硬座) or standing (无座) class

You can, if you are mad, choose to a soft sleeper (软卧) at 78 RMB or hard sleeer (硬卧) at 54 RMB. The trains appear to be through trains with termini at Chengde (承德) and Shijiazhuang (石家庄).

I sincerely hope they adjust the time tables because right now, that is phenomenally useless.

Just use the thing as a commuter rail tunnel.

The value of the tunnel is that it links the conventional Beijing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Harbin lines.

Still, a rail tunel under the middle of a great city like Beijing would be exploited in other countries to make RER-type services or commuter rail, introduce through-trains, etc. As it is now, phenomenally useless indeed...

Run a few subway and commuter lines is the most realistic plan.
With the newly revised schedule there are Some north <-> south routes going through Tianjin instead of Beijing (such as Harbin - Tianjin - Shanghai/Nanjing) to ease the already congested network and stations in Beijing
