Yes, again Rogaland can show the way of how it should be done!

Don't believe Riksantikvaren would allow a height extension so close to Akershus fortress... I will be glad if only they decide not to destroy it

Nytt tinghus i Stavanger

I am aware of that the article is old, but according to TU.no construction is starting September 2009. But still waiting to see some new rendrings, expect this one:

Then probably both of these projects should've been in the highrise-section? But else, nice. I like the silo. They're transforming a silo, without making the new building look like a silo!

I think I know where all of these places are, Tranby, Rotnes (although I thought it was larger) and Råholt for sure, and isn't Søgne somewhere inland close to Kristiansand? So I guess you have to make it a bit tougher....

Although I probably should not contribute further to the insult of Tranby, I must admit that I had to smile a little when I for the first time noticed the motorway sign to Trandby (cod lower oil town) and Sylling, it kind of places it in the same class as Fet(=fat) and Siggerud. With a second thought, the marketing department was probably off duty when the names were selected for Rotnes (Mess-ness) and Råholt as well...

Seriously, I do not think any of those places compare with Svolvær. Population is not the only parameter to look at. Svolværgeita is a national landmark, what would be the cause Tranby's fame?

Thorbjørn Jagland and that there's a switch with "War/peace" at the junior hight school. What more do you really need? And the tallest point in Oslomarka, Kraftkollen.

But I could list a lot of historically important sights on Tranbyhøgda as well.

I'm just kidding, I really don't care that much.

Ive missed some updates on what going on in Trondheim, so I find some articles about Brattøra and Nyhavna and the future. Sorry for the Norwegian language, its just to complicated to write it on english.

Nyhavna:

http://www.adressa.no/meninger/komme...cle1340393.ece

Nå ønsker man en mer universel arkitekturpolitikk.
http://www.adressa.no/meninger/article1336201.ece

http://www.adressa.no/meninger/article1331057.ece

Usentrale boliger selger best

I understand why people want to move to Follo. We're the best! But "usentralt"? That's harsh from an Oslo-paper...

I do love Ås (and also the rest of Follo). Wonderful how civilization has cut into nature with buildings and agriculture, but still manage to keep some sort of balance. A nice mix of forrests, aggriculture, buildings and hills. And best part with Ås is that it's very short distance to walk across the village, at least when you are drunk...
