Queen Elizabeth Square

Built- 1960-65
Height- 58.00 / 190.24
Usage- Residential
Architect- Sir Basil Spence

Notes:
-Demolished in 1993
-One Woman was Killed in Demolition, due to Flying Debris
-Were Area C of Hutchesontown-Gorbals Comprehensive redevelopment.
-Work Included the Queen Elizabeth Square Shopping Centre.

The form's not bad, just trying to imagine them clad in glass and stainless .. not so bad. The balconies look generous, especially the end ones, you could almost have a game of footballl on them. Only 6/10 though for ugliness of cladding, and the fact that their fabric now probably forms the hardcore of some ring-road scheme somewhere, having only stood for 30 years.

The queen should be offended. Large buildings, large solids without the idea. I don't like. Matter of the taste. I am from Poland, I associate him with the communism and large blocks for hundreds of people, where every flat looks the same.
