You're welcome. The red parts are the ones U/C and the black is the already constructed. On the bottom right the little map is the zoomed in portion of that loop road.

From inside the little map the smallest loop is the C1, it is all black.
The next loop is the C2 with only one portion U/C and will be completed in 2013
The next loop is the Gaikan expressway, you will notice on the left portion there are 3 circles which is under study.
The last and the largest loop is the Ken-O Expressway.

Here is another map showing C2, Gaikan and Ken-O in red (C1 is the small blue one inside of the red C2).

I found an english page but it is outdated (2006) it has info about the projects:

These pictures reminded me of some I made 3 years ago on the Seto-Ohashi bridge:

the National Highway route signs in Japan are shaped a bit like onigiri (the triangular-ish balls of rice)... I've always wondered why they were shaped that way. Does anyone here know?

Am I the only one who has trouble running this video in full screen at the original resolution?

And no, I don't mean the internet connection. My CPU just can't handle it

Of course you're not. That thing takes ages to load with 2160p.

Depend on your connect, Google's connection and your PC performance.
This 2160p file size is 3,1GB and it loads fast for me when not in peak hour/prime time and happy to connect to one of just few fast Google's servers. Usually Google is very overloaded. In prime time Youtube here is like on dial-up... You also need fast CPU to play it, if it's not hardware accelerated by your GPU.

So what about road marking. How Japan managed to maintain it clean and bright all the time?

Everything is newer, bigger and better in Japan, we're probably in the Stone Age from their perspective with our antiquated, low-res 1080p

Portions of the Hanshin Expressway collapsed during the Kobe earthquake on January 17, 1995. The collapsed portion is built, how about the existing elevated highway? How they reinforce it?
