I think this picture is interesting. That's the end of the dual carriageway in Morpeth. From London to Morpeth all of the A1 is at least dual carriageway and the road is motorway, or only dual carriageway, but similar to motorway. But from Morpeth it's the end of the dual carriageway. Look at the traffic on the road. The road should be rebuilt to at least dual carriageway. Do they have any plans to do it? And when are they going to rebuild this road? I hope they do it very soon.

I live a few miles from where this picture was taken (in the little town of Alnwick)

We have been campaigning for years as a county (our elected Mp has been pushing the issue for a long time in parliament)

The road was earmarked for upgrading before the labour government got in who promptly scrapped the plans.

Many people are killed on this stretch of road every year yet it is not a priority because "not enough people die to warrant upgrading"

An utter disgrace

If you bring your own food you'll probably eat better and for more than half the price.

But people might want to eat while on the road as well. It saves time.

How about impovements on A1 from Dishforth to Scotch Corner?
I know they started works from south to Leeming. How about the norther half? Did they finish all the paperwork?
Does anyone have construction photos?

This is the old bridge from 1966 and the motorway is now called M48. I think this bridge is more beautiful than the new bridge at the M4.

Good spot. It's the A46 junction with Kenilworth Road.

The M62 always looks incredibly jam packed.
