I'm going down to London for the day tomorrow. It'll be a good chance to test out my new lense for my camera
![]() I'm really excited about it I love going down to London. I'm planning on heading down to Canary Wharf at some point so get a few pictures. I heard that you have to have permission to use a DSLR down there. Is that true? I'm going to take pictures with it regardless but how much trouble could I get into If I get stopped by one of the security guards?

If you go there during the weekend you are likely to be stopped by security guys and told to stop, or even by the police. Forget Canary Wharf and go to the City and West End to test your new wide angle lens.

Don't try to snap the Houses of Parliament or London Eye with a wide angle, it's an absolute mission. I couldn't get anything good out of them. Just really awkward shots. Minging.

I don't have a decent camera but have managed to get away with it every time i've been down. If you're on public land the security guards have no power

They only target people with big (DSLR) cameras.

I'm probably going to take my standard lense with me too so If I can't get a good shot of something I'll switch them.I'm leaving Nottingham at 8 tomorrow morning and driving to Edgeware tube station. I'll be at Edgeware at around 10.30 ish. We're staying for the full day and I'm going to visit parts of London that I don't usually go to. I'm avoiding places like Oxford Street, the various museums as I want to see a different side to London.

I've been having an ok day, had a really bad bowling trip (only averaged 120 odd), watched england lose the cricket, and Murray win the tennis. I've been nursing a hangover all day (last night was far better than it should have been) and had a progress meeting with my boss which went better than expected.
However finding out Wendi is still alive has made the day awesome. Confirmation that Charlie and Martin still exist would finish it off nicely. Maybe I should start an angry ranting thread about Squirrels and deliberately spell every word wrong.

Not if you're putting out a small fire

I climbed Mount Olympus on Wed/Thurs. It's a beautiful mountain. The slopes are clothed in fragrant pine forests but near the top the trees thin out to bare jagged rocks. The approach to the summit involves some scary scrambling over huge drops. I was pleased at how calm I was. I think I am gradually overcoming my fear of heights through repeated exposure to them.
I also visited the amazing monasteries perched on rock pinnacles at Meteora, the Vikos Gorge, and now I'm in Athens for two days, though I'm going to spend most of tomorrow at the ancient site of Delphi. I love Greece but it's f***ing hot here. I'm pouring with sweat during the day, and the sun is fierce. |

Langur that sounds amazing... I've come back from camping in Wales, 13 degrees, heavy rain, and gales. All day and all night. Stay in Greece!

EastEnders has a new look opening from tonight - the first change in 10 years since the Millennium Dome was added to the map.
