Weston Park won't be very pleased. I like wind turbines, I can see why locals wouldn't like them though. I love seeing them on the distant horizon whenever I go into mid Wales.

Oh yeah, I never thought about what they would think. It will look cool having the V Festival located under some huge turbines

I saw someone in an Ubuntu Sweatshirt riding a bike in York today, I was so shocked I forgot to run him over.

So , I have struck a bit of a deal on the cornish rental property that I bought.
I know this is casting on deaf ears but sometimes it helps to put things in writing. I have had a problem with a leaky roof. I paid a specialist to have a look and give me a quote for the repair. They told me that I need to spend around £1k to fix my part of the problem however, its the neighbours roof that is the main fault so they need to pick up a tab of around £2k. Their property is also a let and after spending some time tracking down the owner I have got hold of them and told them of the situation. They of course told me to fuck off but they have no ground to fight me on this and they will have to shell out. So... I was on the phone with the owner arguing about the roof when something hit me. Since we have neighbouring properties that are identical, we were both limited to five guests each. But we will often get larger groups looking to stay. I have floated the idea that if either of us has a large group on the cards then we should sell it as a two propery deal and then split the difference. That has to be an absolute winner! Problem I have is that I havent agreed a deal with a letting agent because they are all piss taking bastards. I refuse to deal over the phone now and want to deal face to face which realistically means that it will be jan / Feb that I get a deal in place. its hard to bolt anything down when my arrangement is not set up. meanwhile I have the strange situation of trying to do a business deal with these people while at the same time threatening them with legal action over the roof. Life and business is a funny old game. it really is. But I love it

Another mugging in Erdington area of Brum with the mugger's description apparently quite similar to the guy who mugged me. Victim was a 15 year old girl; had a phone and mp3 player nicked. I don't know how he attacked her but apparently she's OK, just a bit shaken. They really need to catch this bastard - though they've got a good amount of CCTV from the sounds of it.

Yesterday I worked for a Bank.
Today I work for an Investment Management firm. We have just finished reclassifying our business.

Lol, well the way things are going ....
We started reclassifiying our business a while back. We dont offer banking services at all, we just run assets for pension funds. With all the negativity around Banks we wanted to change our name from XXXX Bank to XXXX asset management. Its lucky timing because if we didnt we would be getting unfairly caught up in all the 'bash the bankers' taxes due to be announced later today. |
