not to mention the LED lighting is the worst I have ever seen! The reclad almost gets it, but yes, the dark strips suck too

I actually like the reclad, just cannot get over the base. Trying to, and I don't think it will change unless someone else buys the thing.

I think the base could be ok if they took out the arched spans Between the columns and cleaned it alot. The little curved details really don't fit with the new hard angles of the reclad. It wouldn't be perfect but it would be much better IMO.

I personally think the reclad is terrible. It looks cheap and incomplete. It is a complete shame the design was ever approved. It looks like they ran out of money and just partially finished it. The building is an eyesore.

Keep in mind guys...

That they still have to remove the former facade from WITHIN the building. That is why much of the building still looks rather dull. Once the it is removed it should make for a much more clear and polished design.

In the pictures above you can see this on the top 5 floors that have had the former facade removed. Those finished floors look great at night.

I don't like the base, that is the part that looks cheap. Nothing surprises me. If the next tower was aluminum siding somehow approved by the city, and fake plastic brick, I would not be surprised.

LED panels

Dont know if anyone noticed this evening but they were playing around with different color patterns on the LED panels on the top north and south sides. Apparently it's not limited to just blue, but I saw all colors of the rainbow.... including some different patterns of color like red, white and blue for 4th of July, and red and green for Xmas, pink for breast cancer awareness. It also looks like the lights that had burned out were fixed as well. Here's hoping they put on nice holiday light shows.

I went to Kathy Griffin last night at the Murat. The top of the Regions Tower was green all evening. It looked great and complimented their Regions Bank logo.

Yeah, I noticed it being green Saturday night while sitting out at WRSP listening to the free Rob Dixon concert. It looked nice.

I was driving through downtown on saturday night and I too saw the green!!! Threw me off at first cause it was so different for the downown skyline, but I LOVE it!! Excellent addition of color that was desperately needed, downtown just felt vibrant from the sky.

I saw the green the other night and it is such an improvement over the barely visibile blue! It really does look good. I am anxious to see what other colors come along...

Chase Tower

CWilson758...... Looks like you might have your wish. I saw some other color displays on the Chase Tower last night as well. It was the first couple of floors just under the white terraced roofing. There was a rainbow effect around the entire top of the building. Not sure how or why they were creating this effect. It looked nice however. Anyone else see it last night?

I think they added some LED lights to the interior top windows similar to the IPL building on the circle. It looked nice however. Anyone else see it last night?

I did see it. It was interior lighting that was cycling through multiple colors. I thought it looked good. It is be the caterer that took over after durham. Im thinking something similar to skyline club for private events.
