The coastal highway from Karachi to Gwadar (750 kms). Its mostly deserted with loads of weird stuff on the way. And ofcourse, you got the sea on one side but some really weird stuff on the other side. For pictures, see earlier pages (mostly 1-4).

The karachi-Gwadar highway, also known as coastal highway, runs from the city of Karachi to the under-construction new port (and subsequently a new city to be in future) along the coast of the Arabian sea. Its also runs through some of the strangest rock formations on earth and mud-volcanos.

Give us a visit!

I've driven on the Gwadar-Karachi Highway. The mountainous pass (about 50 kms. or so, I think) is one of the most amazing places to drive on.

This pass:

And as kbboy mentioned, the scenery's so diverse. You get the sea, desert, mountains, rivers (if they're not dry), mud volcanoes, strange structures that cannot really be described, canyons, oases. EVERYTHING. The single most amazing thing is a whole range of hills that look like they've been carved by tools. When me and my friends first saw them, we debated for quite long whether they were man-made or natural. Of course, when we saw that there were many of them, we realized they can't possibly be man-made.

In short, definitely a journey worth making.

I just realised that the 1st page of this thread looks exactly like the 1st page of the thread that I created on Pakistan's Highways & Motorways, in the Pakistani section. Kudos to Edwardes for putting all the pics here and starting this thread! I'll try and post some pics here, if I can.

Damn! I posted videos on the 7th Avenue, but they somehow got lost in the SSC hiccups.

Here they are again:
