Ok, there's the "insert image" button (pic of mountains) when you're doing a post. Click on this and you'll get a box to put the url (web address) of the image.
To get the url of the image from Flickr, view the image in Flickr and provided that it's your own image you'll have a "Share This" link on the left. Click on this and select "Grab The Link". Copy the link, e.g. http://www.flickr.com/photos/30124939@N00/2673298437/ and then you can paste this link into the image popup box in your posting. EDIT--- I'm talking sh*te. That's a link to the page. Right-click on the actual picture. Select Properties and then highlight the Address and press ctrl+c to copy the URL and then paste into post. I know it's not a tower block but this will soon be lost - St. Nicholas House, HQ of Aberdeen City Council - they are moving to the building on the left with the scaffolding in May 2011.

The pics you quoted are of the Heygate Estate overlooking Elephant & Castle NR station, and that is the correct name. |

The southernmost tower blocks of UK I guess.
So what about the northernmost tower blocks of UK ? where are they located ? Aberdeen ?

EDIT: It could also be these ones a short distance away which seem just slightly further north. I think they're the ones on the horizon on the above photo. Last edited by Butterfield; February 19th, 2011 at 09:06 PM. |

This tower block in Motherwell is completely empty now, not sure when work is to start on removing asbestos from the building but after that it is TNT time.

Are there none in Inverness?
I have no idea, but I'd be surprised if there weren't a couple of small blocks there... Here's an aerial... looks like some small blocks on the left?

Yeah, our Invernessian friends have informed us in the past that there aren't any true tower blocks there, and I haven't seen any the few times I've passed through.
HOWEVER, Thurso, the most northerly town on the British mainland, has these. |

With only four floors they don't really qualify as tower blocks.

The trouble with those Jersey ones is that Jersey is not part of the UK. Interesting to see them though, never having been there it's easy to get sucked into these bogeyman ideas of a tax dodger's playground splendidly isolated from real life!

Oak Gardens and Eldon Gardens in Liverpool were probably the first tower blocks in the UK to be deceased in 1979, predating the demolition of most of Hutchesontown Area E. Any other tower blocks that were demolished before 1990?

The infamous East London tower block Ronan Point, made famous due to a deadly gas explosion in 1968, was finally demolished in 1986.
