gorgeous!

i suppose the sky lobby isn't so much an observation deck as a second lobby serving the upper floors?

yeah you're probably right. I assume there will be an observation deck at the top.

It's interesting, but definitely not my style.
It's seems there will be a competition between this one and Costanera Center in Santigo to see who will be the tallest in latin America.

Well, this is only an un-detailed conceptual rendering. The tower will be a little "different" from what we are used to see, but the project may undergo further re-designs. However, do not expect too much redevelopment. Of course, with glass, steel and some other thigs the tower will look better. I personally don´t like it´s form, but i bet that when built it will look much better.

And it looks like a transition between the old, boxy form of the skyscraper and the 2000+ generation boxes, which is quite suitable for the area the tower will be built in.

It's a nice design but IMHO, I think this render is vulnerable to seismic activity.

Proposed.

By the way, I'm sure there will to be strong opposition fron the neighbours and from some people who consider the building to be demolished in order to give way to this project has artistic value (it's a construction from the 40's).

I completely agree with you. True architecture is is hard to achieve...RK is one of the few architects that does it well.

Wen built it suposed to be the tallest in Latin America,Im Mexican and i not a fan,i dont like it!

Chiles Costanera Tower has a more pleasing view.
I hope they change Arquitects and have a Mexican Arquitect instead,i personally dont whant a City full of ugly skyscrapers like in Panamas, yes theres a lot of tall ones but they all look ugly and defenetly not fisrt world.

No way this tower will ever be constructed and surpass Torre Mayor. Aren't there certain height limits in Mexico City?

This tower looks very nice and original. The design is unique. A nice way to celebrate 200 years of independance.
