Oh no! There are not such limits in Mexico City (there are some in selected neighbourhoods). We're still expecting a new tower higher than Torre Mayor and lower than Torre Bicentenario.

Nope.. i think that just happens in Brasil.

But the main reason why it's not common to see many projects like this one is because of the cost of building 'em in this city so they can resist the hard kind of earthquakes that happen here...

this project will be 600 million dollars, a lot compared to what this tower would be in Panama, Dubai etc.

I think that the design by Rem Koolhaas is something we were not expecting. It's just quite too different for what we are used to. Maybe in 2010 when it's completed it'll look amazing!

BTW; isn't this the very first Rem Koolhaas' supertall?

I'm speechless... The design is amazing. It is not the typical skyscraper with nice modern design. It's challenging, complex, efficient... It will be most suitable landmark for a city like Mexico City.

The shape of this building is amazing! I can't wait to see it standing in 2010 when we Mexicans celebrate the Bicentennial Anniversary of our Independence from Spain and the 100 years celebration of the Mexican Revolution.

I also can't quite understand why this design has had so much negative opinions for its shape because, personally, when I first saw the renderings, I thought it was incredible. But, of course there's always people who are unable to undestand art and good design.

I also wanted to add that this is a very serious proposed project according to what I have read in the Mexico City forum and other news about this project.. The info. posted previously comes from a very reliable, and one of the most serious, and renown, Mexican newspapers.

I hope it becomes the tallest building in Latin America!

Yes, "tragaluz" means in english something like "skylight", a hole which "seems" will iluminate the inside of some floors.
