Well still no update on the Landing and construction was coming along fine. I drive the whole perimeter today after going to Lowe's.

I also passed a couple of other projects that are nearing completion. Chateau de Ville. It's looking pretty nice! I didn't realize they were going to be condo's though.http://www.chateaurenton.com/index.html

And there is also Liberty Square apartments. http://www.liveatlibertysquare.com/index.htmlWhich I was horrified by the Shiteous rusty colors they have up. But as you can see from the rendering it should look better. Thankfully.

yeah that chateau de ville is quite an amazing building...i LOVE it. I have word of two new tenants joining the landing, THE ROCK and Isazaky sushi.

Ironically, the pressure that Westfield is placing on the big-name mall companies is probably helping the Landing to develop into a unique and desirable spot. Westfield (which owns hundreds of malls) is pressuring it's usual national tenants to stay out of the Landing, which leaves the Landing as a mall for smaller start-ups and high-end Northwest companies. I think this will give the Landing a unique character which will keep our project from being like "Westfield Every-mall USA," something which may work well for Renton. Especially since Renton are squeezed between Bellevue Square to the North, which is one of the most successful malls in the Nation, and Southcenter to the South which is about to become the biggest mall in the state. Offering unique shops will no-doubt work well for us.

Best of all, there appears to be good progress in an area that has been the most-requested feature of all.... a high-end grocery store (Trader Joes). A high-end store is seriously considering the location, and at the same time Harvest Partners is pursuing a "Market Hall" concept to add more variety. The Market Hall would be a shared Market Space, similar to Pike Place Market (only smaller of course), or more specifically Granville Island in Vancouver BC for those of you that have been there. The Market Hall would be a great place to buy cheese, wine, produce, tea, coffee, flowers, and similar items, but would still not provide all the staples of a grocery store.

Still no Trader Joe's at the landing.......also passed by Liberty Square again, looks they are open and accepting tenants. The online color scheme wasn't followed. Its a terrible and shiteous brown. Nasty just nasty.

I've gotten to know Downtown Renton a bit recently, because it's the portal to the Cedar River Trail. It's a nice little cohesive, active downtown!

Kind of strange to see all this strip mall discussion when there's a real downtown nearby.

LOL yes I got that same email last week. And I did submit a request for one one at the Landing. However with Sales being down chainwide expansions are on hold for the foreseeable future according to the store manager that I know personally.

Last week I think it was, I went to get pictures, but ended up not being able too. It rained so hard, so I just turned around and went to Bellevue for awhile. :-/ Sorry.
