That's great. I'm glad the City of Renton found the new ways to get around than being worried about Boeing's future.

It is seen that blue collar is becoming a negative term to describle the minority of people based on their incomes.

yeah in the eastern highlands million dollar homes are sprouting up all over. They are currently working on a plan to re-do most of renton highlands near the bowling alley. That area needs A LOT of work. High crime and low income housing all over that area....not really a mix.

So if Target is an anchor for the Landing, I swear that will nail the coffin on their Factoria location. Boy does that mall need help!! And they just renovated.

I believe Factoria Mall is planning to start their residential component with additional retail soon. Or at least they appear to be thinking about it.

I heard that too. It was on Seattle Times Newspaper around last year. I haven't hear anything more about it for really long time since it was announced on newspaper around last year.

Target will be moving at Factoria Mall to the Northwest corner parking lot and currently two restruants. It will be huge, nearly double the current size if not more. They have the plans for the mall out infront of Red Robin if anyone is interested.

It will still effect Factoria though. Some northern "Rentoniers" drive to Factoria to shop... Looks like poor Factoria got the shaft again. Everyone keeps growing around them.

i drove through the landing today...the main roads open through it...and the architecture is impressive. I like . The target looks very modern for a target and rich. I love how it looks. Not like most targets i have seen. Anyways....im happy to see the prject coming along..more buildings are going up all over now in there!

...actually, I believe that if you look at that drawing at Factoria, that large development will be a new store to Factoria, and the Target is still in its current location.

What I'm hearing is that the new store in the Northwest corner will be Kohl's.

Isn't there a vacant dept store shell there at the south end? An old Mervyns or Gottshalks or the like?

They already opened one in Lynnwood near Alderwood Mall. I believe that construction we saw on Southcenter BLVD might be that KOHL to open at that site.

The Kohls in Lynnwood is very nice. I don't shop in them, quite frankly, I don't even know what they sell... clothes I assume.

I was in Renton today... that city still looks the same.... still kinda cruddy.

I was also in Kent, and Federal Way... two other city's I'm not quite fond of...and Kent had a funky smell.

Kohls is exactly same store as Mervyin's but nicer. My relatives love to shop at Kohls in California. I go to Kohls with them but never purchase any clothes or shoes there. Kohls clothes/shoes are too cheap for my taste. Please excuse my snobbness.

There are so many changes going on in DT Renton right now. I just relocated to an office there so I get to see most of the changes pretty quickly.

They also just lost the Dinner Train. To Tacoma of all places! And of course the Sonics arena is still up in the air. There are many new luxury apartment buildings going up. Most near or around the Transit center.

There are plans for a HOV only center on and off ramp on 10th Ave that would take it thru the landing and then to Park and then the transit center. They are also going to add a lane from 169 to an SR515 off ramp. 405 project details link is here to the WSDOT site. Both of these will really help congestion thru the nightmare that is the S-Curves.

Its pretty cool how rapidly things are changing for the better there.
