What's the difference between this and kent station?( Aside from the housing). Is there substantially more retail?

Yeah, I wish they added 3-5 extra floors of residential and office space above all that retail. That would've been sweet.

"kent station" is 18 acres......"the landing" is 68 when completely built out.....(48 acres on this first phase) and much much more retail.

Kent Station doesn't have any major big box retailers, the Landing has Target, Lowe's (not technically part of the landing, but right across the street/adjacent to Fry's).

I have been reading a lot of people's responses on "the landing" board and renton residents are not happy with the residential portion (how its not included with the retail), the large parking area (waste of good land), and some even hate the design.

yeah, I saw the landings few days ago and it looks huge difference from the vacant cement sea of parking spaces with weed growing out in cracks few years ago. wow! I think it looks more lively than empty looking with frys out in middle of nowhere.

^ Yeah the chamber of commerce said that it was all due to delays from the lawsuit from the Westfield group. A company from Australia if I recall correctly.

I didn't know that project was delayed, but at least it got built and it's gonna open soon for the first batch of retail.

I drove through The Landing today. Well it's not much yet - looks pretty much like a typical lifestyle center. But I'll pass judgment until it's done.

There's not that much to take pictures of - yet. The Target and the part immediately around it are done, but most of the rest is still being built. Maybe by the summer it will be something worthy to look at.
