This is too bad some of the last few family farms in the north end of the Kent Valley are located here. But there is also a huge tractor supply yard full of rusting parts too........

What is truly sad is how much of that farm land belonged to Japanese farmers, then during the internment it got all taken away. Convenient for Boeing and many other businesses that scraped it up from the government.

The whole Japanese internment thing was a disaster for the Seattle area just like it was for the people interned. It also seriously damaged the Pike Place Market, which had a huge number of Japanese businesspeople before.

And it seems the damage was never repaired. We could have had a bustling Japanese community if all that internment didn't occur, though we do have some (Uwajimaya, Mill Creek - created by Japanese developers)

Okay, I got off topic, sorry.

Has The Landing added anymore traffic along Park Ave - I-405? Haven't heard anything about it, so I was just wondering. When Lakewood Crossing opened in Marysville, traffic completely blew up the area. How about The Landing?

Renton-Kent-Auburn area is mostly all urban sprawl. :P Needs to change.
Some of my photos from the Northwest Photo Journey of Renton now over a thousand photos!

Downtown Renton.

Urban development downtown.

This may be one of the only angles that make Rentonlook like a city. It's of City Hall.

Single family homes still sit beside downtown.

Ugly box.

Sprawl.

Large sprawl parking lots.

Nice school.

Old downtown Renton.

More photos in the Northwest Photo Journey.

the area south of downtown with all the single family homes has been rezoned. They currently have a new condo complex under construction in that area. soon it will be townhomes and other multi family living type of neighborhoods.

I won't be surprised if Renton is going to become dense community like Bellevue within two decades from now.

Meh, I think his interests more revolve around global domination rather than real-estate development

just went down to renton tonight and MAN is that place confusing. i think google must have given me the wrong directions or something but fry's is damn hard to find. i had to call the store 3 times for directions because i kept getting lost.

so many of this region's freeways and road systems are horrendously over-engineered. maybe it works for somebody, but sure as hell not for visitors. could not believe traffic down there either.

granted it was dark but still. hard to get a sense of place in most o these burbs
