Insignificant. Most oil was taken by Nazi Germany during WW2 and then by USSR as war damages.

Let's not exagerate...

Most of reserves were used and squandered during the Ceauşescu period.

no, the nazi and commy thing is just street corner gossip. (like other self pity legends here)

true, at that time, compared to world production (was the biggest in Europe), it was a lot, but after that, the production (and the areas of exploatation) continued to grow (even if the world production grow much more).

(peak production year was 1976 with 14.7 million tons)

Have you ever heard of SOVROMs? The entire Romanian oil, uranium, gas, ore, naval production, etc etc not to mention grain production was controlled by/"exported" to USSR at ridiculous prices.

That's not the point (or the topic here). Even if they took everything from 1939 to 1944 (nazi) and 1945 to 1956 (when SOVROMs where disolved) the total production in that period was way below the total production from 1965 to 1989 (Nic's period).

So most of oil was exploatated during his time... with peak production in 1976 with 14.7 million tons

Actually we have around 304 km. I keep repeating this. So, by the end of the year we will have around 330.

Yeah, but payments in natural resources continued until '75.

PS: If you have figures of oil production over the relevant period, please send them to me via PM. This off-topic is getting too long.

Thanks

Bucharest-Pitesti: 113 km
Pitesti By-Pass: 15 km
Bucuresti-Cernavoda: 151,4
Transylvania Motorway: 42 km

Total: 321,4

By the end of the year we'll have 12 km from Transilvania Motorway + 17 km Sibiu By-pass = grand total of 350 km

The thread is called: Motorways & Highways in Romania, that's why we also post roads. It's also because Romania builds/improve currently a hell lot of by-passes and national roads and the activity there is more important than that motorways, so I think that should be somehow reflected here as well.

Prime Minister Emil Boc, will not inaugurate on this Saturday the section between Turda and Campia Turzi from Transilvania highway as the section is missing the "cosmetic" part.
From November 6, 2010

The 10 km of highway section between Campia Turzi and Turda, will not be inaugurated on Saturday, as scheduled, because the route requires some "cosmetic".

Vasile Dragan, highway manager, said "There are some minor issues of details and we did not want to have discussions after, that this section was inaugurated to fast. Everything is ready on the highway structure, safety and signaling elements, but is finish and will take a few days until the land near the highway will be restored to its original shape."

The section of 10 kilometers of Campia Turzi - Turda was completed last Saturday and should be inaugurated this Saturday by Prime Minister Emil Boc. This portion is connected with the rest of 42 km section of Transilvania highway which was ready from 1st December 2009.

The section between Campia Turzi and Turda will act as well as a bypass for the heavy traffic for both towns.

So they didn't open the new section on TM because they didn't trim the grass on the sides of the motorway or what?

It's 50% completed. If the contractor gets the money it needs next year, they can finish it.

Cool, let's hope the government will do it in time so that no delay will be caused. Thanks for the update

You are wrong. How many times have you traveled by car on A1? How can you say those things? Where do you come up with 113 and 15? Count again, look it up and you will realize that you are wrong.

Wikipedia + infrastructura.ro.

BTW: Here's the website of Search Corporation, the technical consultant for many motorways in Romania. They also mention 15 km for Pitesti motorway by-pass.

And yes, I drive very often on A1.
