Actually 2006 was the first year of auto market boom. The last traffic count was performed by CNADNR in 2005. By that time the vehicle number was increasing at a steady pace of 5% per year. Nobody could predict the boom in vehicle aquisition in 2006-2008, boosted up by bank loans and leasing market and second hand imports from Western Europe. So predictions made in 2006 based on the results in 2005 could not factor in the market boom up to 2008.

But, CNADNR is performing this year a new traffic count. So let's hold our breath until they publish the results next year. Or better, you hold your breath

If we get a motorway, I would even pay 10 EUR, if the other "50%" promise not to use the motorway and let me drive alone. So I'll win anyway...

I believe Chris de Zwolle in his previous post proved you are wrong.
for any company owner the trip is more expensive if it takes more time, and definately this is not a 4 euro difference.
the driver salary is just the small precentage (15-25) of the expense. the overhead - this is what matters. in fact they spend more and as a result you get less.
actually this is so obvious that I am surprised that company shareholders in your example do not get it.

For someone that run a medium size company and count the value of time, you do spend a lot of time on this forum

That is perhaps the most off-topic debate we had here for a long time.
It would be useless to ask you politely to use the p.m. function, don't it?
Please, let's get back to [RO] Romanian autostrăzi & drumuri • Motorways & Highways - România:

Its great to see the motorway rising there. I remember going through the paid road in Mamaia from Ovidiu to Euforia last year summer. Will the motorway be tolled or free? And btw, any pictures from that road in Mamaia?

Constanta bypass will probably be toll-free by itself. That is until the Gov will decide to toll all the motorways in RO. We'll see, nobody knows for sure.

About the paid road in Mamaia - I think you're talking about the fee you pay for ENTERING Mamaia, not for the road itself.

We had a surprising news today from our Transportation Minister that Corridor IV was approved for an extension from Constanta to Mangalia and further to Varna. That means that, as expected, A4 makes sense now as an individual motorway and not only a by-pass.

BTW: It is also expected that A4 will be opened partially next spring (2 lanes) while the rest will be opened by the end of the year.

It may be, well for me I just had to get to the south and perhaps did not take the best route, so I had to pay and I thought it is for the road there, because it was so busy... I am sorry that I did not visit the beach then, but I guess it was late already.

Fresh new pics of Arad-Timişoara stretch, part of the A1 motorway. The original pics at a higher resolution can be seen here.

A minor road is overpassing the motorway near the village of Murani:
