When was that? When the contract was still in force with Colas?

And btw, in a normal country the term of completion is stated by the contract, not by a Ministry in some newspaper.
Well, the term of completion is 15 months oficially starting this month(?), though works started earlier in practice. Taking into consideration that it's a 20 km stretch of which some work was already done by the former company, I would say it's not very far fetched that the half profile might be opened the coming year. Of course, shit happens always, but I'm giving them chances, if you also put into count the companies involved

Let's see what previous contractor, Colas, has achieved so far (ignore the red elipse which has nothing to do with A2):

Today is the Great Union Day in Romania. This is our national celebration. Here is a picture taken today on A1 Arad - Timisoara motorway construction site:

So, ground works basically done? Too bad we don't have pictures from the time when Colas was n the site.

It looks quite an easy job, so I hope that the deadline will be observed and even is possible they will finish it earlier?

I took the information from the article which posted the movie. Is there official info on which lots are done by who?

I didn't see any source in your post.
Anyway, on the Romanian National Motorways & Highways Authority (CNADNR) website, it is presented the next description for Timisoara - Lugoj Lot1:
Quote:
- Lenght: 9.5 km
...
- Contractor: Spedition UMB - Tehnostrade - CARENA SpA IMPRESA DI COSTRUZIONI
...
- Consultant: Luis Berger
For the Lot 2, you're already aware of the bidding result cancellation.

later edit: new pictures from Caransebeş bypass (not a motorway, just an ordinary road) can be found in this Facebook album. I've posted some of them on SSC in this thread.

Is this Caransebes belt-way concerning the road south to Drogbeta Turnu Severin, or only the road east, going to Bucuresti?

This new bypass will make national road 6 (DN6) to go out of the town. It will mainly serve for Lugoj - Drobeta Turnu Severin direction (but this also includes the route to Bucharest). I don't have a map of this bypass, but it should help drivers that go between A and B on this map.

Another highway that will help Bulgarian travelers is Timisoara - Lugoj (9,5 km), foreseen for spring 2013. Of course, this highway will be connected to Timisoara - Arad highway foreseen this year.
Another bypass was opened at Mehadia, also useful for Bulgarians.

If going north over the new Danube bridge(Bulgaria/Romania),youll eventually end up in Arad via Timisoara, but is there a motorway being built from Arad towards Hungary.?

As far as I remember from my passing through Romania in spring 2007, the road there to the border was short and good, so it's not a problem even if there isn't in the short future. It's quite a big progress compared with what it was then...
Of course some kind of bypass of Nadlac and Pecica would be useful, but it's not such a pain.
