I know that my statistics page is a little bit outdated, but I am quite busy in this period. I will update it as soon as my time allows.

Lot 1, from the border to near Pecica is under construction and is supposed to be finished by the end od the year. So far it's hard to tell if the deadline will be met. The other lot, Pecica-Arad still hasn't been tendered yet, even though it's already a year passed since Alpine, the original builder went bankrupt and abandoned the site. The project was at ~80% so it shouldn't take more than 2-3 months to finish everything once we have a builder. So far we've had 3-4 rounds of promises from the goverment that the project will be retendered, but nothing has happened yet...

NB: it's important to note that lot 1 is unusable without lot 2 being at least U/C, because the last few km to Pecica interchange are part of lot 2. So it's very important to tender this (ridiculously) long awaited stretch by this summer...

No. There will be an interchange just before the border at Nagylak to Road 4451, where you can go to the old border crossing Nagylak/Nadlac.

CNADNR opened tender procedures for FS for 430 km of new motorways:

Targu Mures - Ditrau (91 km)
Ditrau - Targu Neamt (118 km)
Targu Neamt (Pascani) - Iasi - Ungheni (100 km)
Buzau - Braila - Galati (120 km)

Costs will be covered by the EU and Romanian government. Romania opened tender procedures for FS another 1,000 km of fresh motorways earlier this year.

Also, tenders for redoing the FS for Sibiu-Pitesti (FINALLY), Sibiu-Fagaras (which will now be planned as a motorway) and Bucharest Motorway ring - northern half, have been published. So we will soon have an entire network of motorways in designing stage. Let's hope we'll get to see most of them built in the following years!

I read that Comarnic-Brasov is going to be started for real sometimes in summer this year. Is that bollocks or can someone confirm it?

Great news

Last night our Transport Ministry published the re-tender of Nadlac-Arad, lot 2 (Pecica-Arad), motorway. The offers should be submitted by 23rd of July, and after that in just a few months the motorway should be completed.

For those that don't know: Nadlac-Arad, lot 2, motorway was initially built by austrian company Alpine Bau GmbH. In June 2013 Alpine went bankrupt and the contract for this motorway was canceled when works were 85% completed. Our Transport Ministry promised to re-tender this section in September 2013, then December 2013, then January 2014, then April 2014 and then every 2 weeks they were saying it will be re-tendered "next week". Well... last night that "next week" came and we have a new tender. Let's hope there won't be appeals in court and that this motorway will be completed soon.

PS: Nadlac-Arad lot 1 (Nadlac-Pecica), which is currently u/c, can't be opened until lot 2 is not completed, because Pecica interchange is on lot 2.

Alpine Austria doesn't exist anymore, and Alpine Romania is in insolvency. Certainly the contract will be awarded to another company.

It's very likely Astaldi will get it, since they are already working close by, on Nadlac-Arad lot 1, using 2 construction yards, so they can reasign one of them for the other lot (it's a mandatory requirement to have at least one dedicated construction yard for each lot). This means they have a huge strategic advantage, and can offer a significantly lower price than the competition. Sadly, this also means the tender result will probably be contested for months by the competition . So let's hope for the best

At this moment, none. In theory, there should be activity on the 6km between Bucharest (Petricani blv) and Bucharest ringroad, but works have stalled due to claims for more money from the builder. Also, 8km near Cluj-Napoca, between Gilau and Nadaselu, are in design stage and should be U/C in the next few months.

Apart from that, we have Comarnic-Brasov PPP awarded to Aktor+Vinci+Strabag awaiting financing, currently with an uncertain future. Also the 60 km between Bors-Oradea-Suplacu de Barcau are being retendered and should be U/C be next year, we hope. And we're waiting for the promised tender for the important stretch between Campia Turzii and Targu Mures, 2 lots.

Could be awaiting financing for years, what was the bid and what are the tolls set at and the projected traffic???

Did the state give minimum traffic guarantees???
